Although 23 year old Yamada Naoko is a "super" magician, she is continously fired and constantly hounded by her landlady for the rent being late. After being fired once again, her boss shows her an ad of a physics professor, a non-believer of all things magical, offering money to anyone who can prove to him that magic is real. Desperately needing the money, Naoko accepts the challenge, which is how she comes to meet Professor Ueda. Falling prey to her simple magic tricks, Ueda is impressed, and enlists Naoko to help him uncover the tricks behind a local cult. Their hilarious antics, along with those of police officer Yabe, leads them onto further mysteries, all with tricks needing to be solved in sort of an "X-Files" meets "Scooby-Doo"...

VividSimon Simply Perfect
Livestonth I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
Tymon Sutton The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
gohmifune This is a rare series. As people who watch Japanese television often, it usually falls apart in some way, be it acting, or comedy, and its usually a thing where you can't say it was because of a cultural or social barrier. However, Trick is one of those shows that stands up well, incredibly show. We have three great actors, Hiroshi Abe always standing out, though Yukie Nakama more than does her part as his irreplaceable partner.I've seen the show often compared to X-Files, and that really is far from the truth. Truth is, Stateside, we really don't have something like this, even if it is only the episodic nature of our television, however don't let that stop you.The story and the plot are strong, and has great music thrown, so overall this is a great series. It wouldn't hurt to give the first few episodes a try, never know, you may get hooked.
