Tin Star Audience Reviews

More Review
Stoutor It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.
Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
doctordbx To be fair, I only stuck it out for 1.5 episodes, but this show is grim and bleak with no redeeming features. If you enjoy feeling miserable and bad take this show for a ride. Guaranteed to make you feel blue.
william_morris I think I'd have been so much happier if I'd stopped at episode 5 or so: I would have had no plot resolution, but I'd have not been there long enough to see the show get so dreadful. After Jack goes off the rails the story follows his lead and just gets sloppier and sloppier, until by the end we're left with situations and dialog that are uncomfortably, even comically, implausible. It's got more subplots than in an overfilled graveyard. And why take your protagonist and make him a horribly unlikeable person so late in the game that there's no room for a redemption arc? Ultimately his story isn't interesting enough to justify the number of people trying to kill him and at the end I don't care if Jack lived or died. I *love* Tim Roth, but except for a few brilliant flashes he's got nothing to do. (And while we're at it, the show has an aggressively unpleasant soundtrack that obscures any dialog it plays over, especially given Roth's south-London accent.)
sandersdunc The show starts out annoying. The main character has an annoying personality and the show never has any hard hitting action. The theme is dragged out and one has to work hard to keep motivation to get through to the end. The plot is thin. Hopefully if there is a season 2, the plot will be stronger and character development improved.
lassell This series seemed to be right up my alley, but I found myself disliking nearly all the characters, most of the writing, and even some of the actors. There are things to like about it, but the best is the footage of the Canadian Rockies, which is breathtaking and has nothing to do with the plot except to emphasize how cut off this town is. A lot of it is shop-worn, unoriginal, and flatly boring. And the direction is ham-fisted. Some of it is absurd. In one scene a character is beaten up by a pack of angry men and the only consequence is a small cut over the eye: no nose or fingers, no cracked ribs, ruptured spleen. A time sequence which seems to take weeks, we are informed, is really three days. I went 'What?" Racial stereotypes are troubling, and poor Christina Hendricks is not only miscast but out of her depth as an actor, if she is an actor (no evidence of it here). I'd say skip it. It's not nearly original or deft enough. It's "professional," but not inspired. P.S. Profanity and some female nudity if that bothers you.
