Lack of good storyline.

This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

I loved a lot of little details about this show when I was a kid. I loved Panthro and Tygra having actual professions, Panthro was an engineer and Tygra was an architect and all Thundercats seemed to have some training in metallurgy. Why? because when you are a child you dream to be alike the characters you like and being an engineer, an architect or some kind of "metals specialist" were actual, long run, achievable goals. This is something (BTW) that they share with another 80's Classic: MASK ; where every chapter they made a selection of experts with different expertise areas according to the profile of each mission.Another plus point for the Thundercats is that they had a real origins chapter called "Exodus". Most shows (both animated and live action) don't take the time to give a full story that explains so exquisitely how the adventure started in the first place. Also, calling it "Exodus" like one of the most important books of the Bible and the Kabbalah (even when Kabbalists actually call it Shemot), gave a feeling of importance, a feeling that you were about to watch a really fine story. Are there some things about the Thundercats I didn't like? Well, like many shows I hated that they repeated the same villain over and over. Differently to other fans, for me, the show is 90 percent about the heroes and only 10 or 20 percent about the villains (with some exceptions,of course), and a villain is even less appealing for me if he or she appears too much. Mumm-ra and Lion-0 had many "last battles" and if you ask me they are good in inverse order of appearance; being the actual last battle the less good and the first last battle the best. All the original characters were great in my opinion: Lion-0, Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, Wilykit and Wilykat, and even Snarf were all good elements of their group. Talking about the three new Thundercats that we got to know later, I think only Linx-O was good enough to become a Thundercat right away, but Pumyra and Bengali weren't so bad either.Talking about the story. like any other show, it liked some episodes better than another. I will try to make some specific reviews for some of them one of these days .Thanks for reading. IMDb Review by David del Real. Mexico City. Mexico. October 9th of 2017. Third Earth (lol!)

I wasn't really into this cartoon when I was very young, but it was certainly all the rage with a lot of other children, including my brother. The animation and plots were quite good and worth remembering. It all seems like it was yesterday just thinking about it I wasn't that old when it first started either. This makes me feel so old. It's no wonder that some episodes have been released onto DVD, about 20 years after their initial airing.A few repeats on TV wouldn't go amiss I suppose? For me it would be for nostalgic interest only though. However I do understand that for other viewers it would be for so much more.

OK, so here's my take on those fab cats! Lion-o: Big strong guy with an awesome sword. A little unsure of himself at times, but who isn't? Always willing to help out others and a bit shy around Cheetara.Panthro: A tough guy with a tender heart. But watch out for his nun chucks, they're lethal. A master mechanic who is in love with his "baby", the Thundertank.Tygra: Architect and designer, he is also a physic of sorts. He is a voice of reason for the other Thundercats, uh, when he isn't getting addicted to Silky Fruit or keystones, LOL, just had to put that in there.Cheetara: OK boys, go ahead a drool. This she cat is a fast one and an accomplished fighter. She is also known as a sex symbol of teenage boys during the 80's.Wily Kit and Wily Kat: Always getting into trouble, but still very adorable. These kids were the link for many kids, even today. They go through what we did at that age, so we can relate to them.Snarf: Lion-o's former nursemaid and his verbal conscience, he's not too good with electronics, but he can help out in a pinch.Bengali: What can I say, the man is sexy(or maybe I just think so). A blacksmith back on Thundera, Bengali has had to reforge the Sword of Omens on more then one occasion. Oh, and don't forget his growl (shivers) Pumyra: Often overlooked and under-appreciated, this chick gets very little respect. What is known about her is that she is a healer and has never had a change of clothes.Lynx-o: The oldest of the Thundercats, he was blinded during his escape from Thundera. Very knowledgeable about most everything and is sensitive to sound. He uses a braille board to "see" things. Not bad for an old guy.So there you go, my little account of the Thundercats. If you want to know more, check out some of the websites dedicated to them. I'd give you a site, but I'm not sure the censors would let me. :(

I have to admit that i was always in to Transformers and He-man more than Thundercats but it didn't stop me from enjoying it every week after school on TV. Never bought any of the toys but i think it was because i was just slightly too old for it when the toys and TV show came out in the UK. One of the stupid things i noticed in it though was the mutants. They were the most useless bunch of bad guys ever, they always messed everything up from start to finish instead of just messing it up at the end (like most other villains do) and thank god for Mumm-ra who is a pretty decent bad guy. Thundercats is not as preachy as He-man either but it has its similarities with it. A great cartoon which is my 3rd best cartoon show from the 80's. Nice.
