My kids love this show. It makes them happy, and when they are happy, so am I. It is a great piece of work, and there is usually a message in there for kids, such as "buckle up for safety", and the characters give reasons for the ways things are, all done in a language that children usually understand and enjoy. The artwork is also very good, and check out the vehicles they have. So for moms and dads who just want their kids to watch something clean, entertaining, and informative, "The Save-Ums" is it. Believe me, you might actually enjoy it. It's good. It's a real shame it only lasted two seasons..... should have been more...

Wow! I'm amazed that none of the other reviews have mentioned the fact that this show is basically a kid-sized version of the old Gerry Anderson Supermarionation show "The Thunderbirds" from the mid 1960s. It's not even mentioned in the "Movie Connections" section for either show. Maybe this is because not all that many people saw "The Thunderbirds" when it first came out.But that doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with this show. It's a great adaptation for kids. My daughter loves it, my wife enjoys it too, and I have fun comparing this show to what I remember from the 60s. If it seems a little simplistic, take the time to remember that this is meant for kids, and not people who've had 20+ years of experience in solving problems. And maybe later on, when the kids who watched this discover DVDs of "The Thunderbirds, " they'll say, "Hey wait - this is just like the Save-Ums."

Being an employee of Discovery Communications, I have been exposed to this program, and I must say it is the most adorable kids show I've seen! I love Kachung! All the characters are cute, and have great appeal to small children. It's one of those things that make older people think of how good it is to be a kid these days. It's very simple for younger kids to follow & understand, and doesn't try to be too complicated or intuitive. All the adventures show kids how good it is to lend a hand and help others. It is also has humor that is cute for kids (and maybe even older viewers) to enjoy! I highly recommend it to any parents seeking entertaining programing for their small children, that also socializes them to be helpful & caring members of society! Small truly is powerful! Believe it!

My three-year-old daughter loves this show. Two phrases that we particularly like from the title song are "To help is beautiful," and the last line, "Small is powerful! Believe it!"The characters are a little strange-looking, like dolls made with little regard for the human form. But it's certainly not the only show to have strange-looking characters, and I think in a way that helps foster the idea that it's okay for other people to look different -- they are still people who can be your friends. In every episode, the Save-Ums get a call on the Save-Um screen. They hear a request for help from one of their many friends, decide which two or three of the Save-Ums will go, and then head out. The problems are the kind that children can relate to, like not being able to find a friend during hide-and-seek, or having an argument with a sibling. The solutions provided by the Save-Ums are creative, but interestingly, rarely work on the first try. This requires them to study the problem a little more and come up with a second, more workable solution. The Save-Ums encourage each other and their friends to be persistent in finding answers to their problems.I recommend this program for toddlers.
