it is finally so absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that’s also a detective story.

I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

This series is basically about a group of people who manage to get lost in a prehistoric land. It's based on the novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The plot deviates from the original book ,but remains faithful in parts.Love this TV series. It's full off excitement and adventure. You connect with the characters too.If you love monsters and dinosaurs then this is for you.It has a similar feel to Jason and the Argonauts. It has most of the mythical beasts that these type of films have. You can forgive the small errors of this series because it's still great fun to watch.P.S NED MALONE(David Orth) MUST HAVE THE BEST SHAPED BACKSIDE IN HISTORY.THIS ALONE MAKES IT WORTHWHILE WATCHING THE WHOLE SERIES!!!

Watching shows like Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Stargate: SG-1, and the first two seasons of Sliders makes me appreciate just how important cast chemistry is to the success of a sci-fi/fantasy series. Not only are the performers in those aforementioned shows solid in their own roles, they play off rest of the cast perfectly. Much of what is wrong with The Lost World is the cast's inability to even deliver convincing performances in their own limited roles. The premise is great: several explorers are trapped in a mysterious world of dinosaurs and "savage" tribes. The possibilities are endless and even with a low budget, the show could still work if the cast was a delight to watch. But the actors are mostly pretty bad in their respective roles. Peter McCauley, Will Snow, David Orth, Rachel Blakely, and Jennifer O'Dell just don't make a convincing team. Snow and Orth aren't all that awful, with the former even showing charisma here and there, but Blakely is just plain annoying, bringing back memories of Kate Capshaw in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, only without the humor or chemistry she shared with her love interest.I've only seen around 10 episodes of the show, and I did like the introduction of hottie Lara Cox into the series, who makes for better eye candy than the rest of the female cast combined. And truth be told, it's not as if the show isn't watchable. Some of the stories are interesting simply because they're so silly. But the series is really subpar at best, sometimes hilariously awful at worst.

The Lost World is a very underestimated tv show, but it is highly imaginative. The Lost world has a good feel to it, when you watch it you go on an adventure. Where i live it comes on at 12:30 when nothing else really comes on exept paid programs. The thing is even if there were other shows on i wouldn't want to watch them because Lost World is awesome. I just have one question, does anyone know when a new season will start?

If you are looking for a show that is pure Sir Arthur Conan Doyle then this may *not* be the show for you. However, if you enjoy elements of ACD's "The Lost World" along with a wonderful, fresh new twist on the story you will love this series! Many wonderful elements make up TLW. There is fantasy and adventure: dinosaurs, mysteries, exciting near escapes and heroics galore - but also comedic moments and dramatic elements that come from crisp scripts and clever direction. What's more, there truly *are* a wonderful cast of characters -- some of which are the true "lost" of the plateau they are trapped on. Not only is the Challenger Expedition fighting the elements, strange occurrences and the general dangers of the world surrounding them but they are also learning, as the months pass, to live with one another and become a family.
Wonderful friendships and romances have developed over the last few years that are very appealing to both young and old alike.Kudos to all cast members: Peter McCauly (Professor Challenger), Rachel Blakely (Marguerite Krux - a character not in the book but mysterious and lovely -- a favorite!), William Snow (Lord John Roxton), Jennifer O'Dell (Veronica - Another new character but a welcome addition), David Orth (Edward "Ned" Malone), Michael Sinelnikoff (Professor Summerlee - Season One) and Lara Cox (Finn- a young woman from our world's potential future - New character in season 3).Sit back, watch a few episodes -- and become enthralled. It's great fun, holds your interests, and you will grow to the this show and its characters -- whether you want too or not (but you WILL want to!).
