The Good Wife Audience Reviews

Steineded How sad is this?
Reptileenbu Did you people see the same film I saw?
Limerculer A waste of 90 minutes of my life
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
JonathanWalford This is a consistently good show full of interesting characters with interesting story arcs and well written courtroom dialogue and situations that make you question what is right and what is wrong -- Does a handsome, well spoken drug dealer deserve legal protection? What about a charming psychopath who probably did kill his wife? However, it is also a show with silly mistakes (incorrect time zones and inconsistent back stories such as how many years earlier had Diane Lockhart founded her firm - 9 years or 13 years?). It's worst problem is the unbelievable passion between the characters Alicia and Will - at no point do the two actors have any chemistry. This leaves a hole in the story arc as the viewer really doesn't care what happens between them and are relieved when that story line finally subsides. What is far more interesting is why the main character can not either reconcile or move on from her husband. Her hot and cold forgiveness makes his affairs understandable... Some of the recurring characters are fascinating, but some are under-developed, like the children. A couple of characters are perhaps overused like Kalinda who dresses like a Star Trek ensign from the 1960s and is an omnisexual sleuth who charmlessly wedges her way into crime scenes and coerces people she has betrayed into repeatedly helping her with tips. I never watched this series when it was originally broadcast on TV (I was too busy with Mad Men, which shares MANY of the same story arcs...) but have now watched the entire series over the past month and while the entire series is excellent, season 5 stands out as the best season.
Carma Simonsen I recently started "binge-watching" this series, so my views are different from viewers who have watched the show on a weekly basis, and I am going to do all I can to avoid spoilers. While this show has a great cast of actors and a slew of interesting characters, there are too many episodes that rely on noise as drama. Too often, I find myself irritated by the frequency of manic lawyers shouting over each other in a court or conference room. The writers should stop relying on this device as a method of creating dramatic tension. More often than not, it merely annoys viewers and makes us reach for the remote. The loss of a significant relationship gave the writers an opportunity to grow the main character in imaginative, innovative, fresh ways. Instead, they shoved her into politics against her will. I am quickly losing all compassion for the protagonist. I also find myself caring less about other characters as the story sprawls into implausible reaches. Depending on what happens in Season 6, I may or may not care enough to watch new episodes when I catch up to the current season. I hope they steer away from campaigning. Maybe this is 2016 election year nausea talking.
Sam Disegno Looking at the name, you would think that this is a soap opera. No, it isn't! And even though it is set in the back drop of the legal, business and political world it is a fantastic drama about human relationships in our work and personal life. This is one of the few shows that I watch (well, watched) because it really has everything in the RIGHT mixture - suspense, thrill, realistic portrayal of human nature and the legal and business world, well timed humour and comedy and angst. With tightly written and well paced script, the brilliant writers and amazing actors prove their skills with flair - a perfect blend!Amazing actors, except for the lead Julianna Margulies.I never liked her. She doesn't suit the role at all. And so she rightly doesn't get much recognition from us fans. But we fans don't dislike her for her acting skills because the writing of the drama more than made up for her lack of talent and charm. But we fans of the shows are rightly angry at her because we know that it is her EGO that resulted in the cancellation of this drama. Numerous news articles have appeared on how she used to throw tantrums when other actors gained more fame than her (the actress who played Kalinda, for example), and she treated them very badly, made sure their roles were reduced and finally (when even that failed to dampen the support for these characters by us fans) ensured that these actors were fired so that "the viewer could focus only on her". She failed to understand that she no charisma, and the show got such high ratings because of the other characters and the superb writing. But don't let the personality of the lead actor deter you from watching this FANTASTIC show. And trust me, the ending will satisfy you - the writers express their anger and frustration at Julianna Margulies in a slapping finish in the last episode, in their own understated manner.
dumeryarne Before you read further, I am the kind of reviewer that just wants to see a good movie or series. I am not going to compare anything with books,am not going to judge acting on details,... I just want to see a good thing without having to much expectations.I was a fan of "Suits" for a long time but thought they did not bring me enough change from season to season. So after a while i stumbled upon this one and just gave it a go thinking it would not be anything compared to suits because I liked the humor there.I must admit, the first season of this series was very good, I loved how every case had its own story, but the story itself from character to character kept on going. It made it whole. But to bad...this goes a bit to slow in my expectations. After 1 season and starting season 2 i just had the feeling I was not watching anything new.I recommend the series for people who loved suits and want something a bit different (or same). But for me it's not hooking me anymore :(
