Like 'Firefly', this show could have gone on to be among the best ever made. This has extraordinary eye candy, great action, a superb cast, fantastic cars, outstanding tunes AND they bring so much funny you will bust some guts. If you don't own this on disc, you should! I can watch this every 2 or 3 years.

I watched 'The Goody Guys" when it aired back in 2010 for most of the episodes. After watching, I new this was a hit show. The plot being about a detective who doesn't necessarily go by "the book" helps with solving cases that at first seem meaningless, but after Bradley Whitford's character's philosophy or maybe I should say his modus operandi takes the viewer, not to mention, his partner Jack Bailey (Colin Hanks)into crime scene logic unparalleled in any police force and future and past detective shows and ends up not only solving the minor crime, but future ones that come about by Bradley Whitford's logic in solving smaller crimes. Jack Bailey (Colin Hanks) adds a co-character who is by-the-book, and those two detectives working together bring about wit, comedy and clever understanding that two partners who go about working together, come about solving those mundane crimes and then the bigger ones, adding insightful logic and understanding inspiring detective and police work for all detective and police works genres. This show should have never ended. Maybe it was that the show was competing with other highly popular, interesting shows that aired at the same time. This show should be brought back.

This show needs to be back on the air. I loved the show when it was on the air and still enjoy watching it on Netflix. There is not a whole lot original about the premise or idea, it's a classic buddy cop show. Bradley Whitford and Colin Hanks and the rest of the cast for that matter are incredible. The writing is excellent, the acting is excellent. Again while the idea behind the show is not original but this T.V. show is far from unoriginal. It's fresh and funny and actually tasteful. There is some adult humor but it is done tastefully. If that doesn't make sense to you watch the show. My seven year old son LOVES this show. We have watched the entire season several times and still when I ask him what he wants to watch he wants to watch The Good Guys. So a 35 year old man in Salt Lake and a seven year old little boy in Salt Lake who have watched the entire season no less than seven times still enjoy watching this show. Why is this show not on the air!?!? That is a huge demographic 7 to 35 almost 36. Fox get this show back on the air with the same cast and writers. Dan, Jack, Julius, Liz and Lt. Ruiz all need to be back on the air for my son myself and the rest of the Country to enjoy. If Fox won't bring it back then Amazon or Netflix need to step up.

I will start by saying that I hate police drams like CSI. I hate any police drama that tries to be serious. That being said, I have not liked any police dramas since the early 1980s, until The Good Guys. This show has everything: car chases, explosions, people leaping through the air shooting at moving objects. What more could you want? As for plausibility, the producers here never let mere physics get in the way of an otherwise good script. I love it. I want more. This show brings back the excitement of the 70's cop/detective shows like Starsky and Hutch, or the Rockford files, and even borrows elements from them; Dan Lives in a trailer and drives a Firebird. There is even intense sexual tension between Jack and his Ex girlfriend. All this makes The Good Guys, truly fun and nostalgic. A must see.I really hope they film another season.
