The Galaxy Railways Audience Reviews

Console best movie i've ever seen.
Bereamic Awesome Movie
Keeley Coleman The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Celia A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Julia Arsenault (ja_kitty_71) Here is an awesome sci-fi anime series I love by the creator of "Space Pirate Captain Harlock" - Leiji Matsumoto. I was really whether this series is a spin-off of a story Leiji worked on for a manga called "Galaxy Express 999," which has been adapted into an animated series by Toei Animation in 1979. Of course after questioning, I know now that this series has no direct relation with Galaxy Express, except for the very same trains that can travel the far reaches of outer space.The series' story as I could remember centers around Manbu Yuuki and the many trials he faces when he enlists in the S.D.F (or the Space Defence Force) just like his father and older brother before him. Then the story leads to a climatic battle with invaders from a parallel universe. Overall I would say this series is an awesome from a sci-fi genius like Leiji Matsumoto. With superb animation and awesome sci-fi action.
Chung Mo An off-shoot of the Galaxy Express franchise, Galaxy Railways tells of the adventures of "Big One", a space battle train that provides assistance to passenger space trains in distress. If you are not familiar with Galaxy Express, this is a sci-fi universe where humans travel about by flying trains. Much like Matsumoto's other projects over the decades, boats, zeppelins, and trains fly around the universe. If this seems strange, it goes along with Matsumoto's old fashioned romanticism. Personal drama and philosophy are heavy in this series although not as much as in Space Pirate Harlock or the Galaxy express series.The series revolves a young man Manabu whose father and older brother have died in the service of the railways battling space pirates. Headstrong, with a nearly blind need to rescue people, Manabu runs into continual conflict with his superiors. This is the strongest part of the show with the great art direction and the good animation. Unfortunately the individual plots have large holes in them and are sometimes laughable. One episode has the cast casually interacting with ghosts as if they do it everyday. Another episode the crew leaves the battle train virtually unguarded with unlocked doors and it gets stolen by pirates! Each episode has a passenger train either blown up or put into incredible peril. One episode shows several trains and a gigantic floating train station blown to pieces by a terrorist, killing hundreds of innocent people. Yet each episode people are happily using the space trains. The supporting characters are typical anime characters. Most of the young women characters are drawn with tight breast enhancing clothing and occasionally mash them around so enjoy that if you may. The second series was retooled for a slightly younger audience (no breast mashing). They introduced a new brash young cadet whom Manabu has to constantly help.A good show and the English dub isn't bad at all! Not totally up to the high standards of other Matsumoto work but it's very enjoyable.
emasterslake From extraordinary Manga creator, Leiji Matsumoto. Brings you an anime that's a mix of Sci-Fi, Adventure, Action, and Drama. Galaxy Railways takes place in a galaxy where trains are capable of traveling through space like shuttle rockets. Making it easy for people to visit distant planets of the galaxy. However dangerous occurs on the railway system, where engine failure and terrorists happen. To help make the galaxy railways safe for everyone. The SDF was form to help, serve, and protect those who are aboard the galaxy trains.The whole series is focused on Manabu Yuuki, a new recruit of the SDF. Who's father once served in the same division. It's Manabu's childhood dream to follow the same path like his dad did before him. But there's many choices and situations that Manabu must succeed if he were to make his dream a reality.This is the first Leiji Matsumoto anime I've ever seen. But I do understand how he's had a history of creating Sci-Fi anime that are being praised for several years. I can see why, cause this anime here is a fine example of his works.The episodes and stories alike are all Sci-Fi/Fantasy. But they all have a mixture of believable characters and emotions. It's as if you're watching something that's from real life even though it take place in a fictional universe.Once in a while I like how something that's an Anime can deliver actual emotion and drama like a live action drama would. This anime is highly worth seeing if you like a blend of Sci-Fi/Adventure/Drama/Fantasy.
