If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

It's always a challenge finding something that our whole family can sit down and watch together. This show definitely fits the bill. The show is fun, while dealing with some heavier issues at times. But mostly, it's just a funny, enjoyable show with great actors executing great writing. As a viewer, I especially like the way the show deals with some of the struggles that younger kids face. Does it make a profound impact? No. But that's not the point. It's a light-headed look at being a family, dealing with loss and navigating the waters of life.I would love to see this show come back for a second season. And my kids would too. This is good quality, family entertainment at its best. We need more shows like this for younger kids.

The overall subject and imagination in this show is refreshing, but the rating doesn't seem appropriate for some of the content. TV-Y7 is usually free from sexual references, but not in this case. For example, the grandma has adult sleepovers and there have been some 50 Shades of Grey references. As a parent, I don't think these drop-ins are appropriate for the audience that the TV-Y7 usually draws.
