Memorable, crazy movie

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

The best TV series in recent years (others include The Game (UK) and True Detective Season 1 (US)) because the writers & actors kept the quality at the highest level for 38 episodes over 4 seasons. Each season is as good as any other, and adding new major character in Season 3 allowed the writers to keep the series fresh. You'll have to watch them all more than once to incorporate all that's going on. And lastly, Sofia Helin as Saga is epic. A don't miss!

I write this as a massive fan of 'Breaking Bad' and 'Peaky Blinders' - two epics of different genres which I thought would never be bettered.Belatedly I came upon 'The Bridge' (Bron/Broen), and I have found the best drama series I have ever watched. My wife and I have just belatedly 'binged' on season 4 over two long nights! You can read elsewhere of Sofie Helin's unbelievably brilliant portrayal of Saga Noren. I would like to give massive credit to the entire leading cast, all exceptionally good.No spoilers here, but yes - it's a police drama, but SO much more. It's a dazzling epic woven around two countries, two cultures, men and women as lovers, parents, sons and daughters, siblings. There are stories of redemption, stories of hope and despair - ultimately it's the humanity of its main characters (amid plenty of gruesomeness and extremely confronting crime that will make you squirm), their damaging pasts, their flawed presents, the fact that they all have families too (excellent supporting casts) such that you wholly BELIEVE in them. The scripting, camera work, music, story lines - every darned aspect of 'The Bridge' are unimpeachable, brilliant, and I dare say unbeatable.Just watch it. That is all :)

My wife and I just watched Seasons 1 and 2. They were great. Excellent acting and both plots made sense. There is a lot of material on Danish inspector Martin Rohde's family and history, but it all fits nicely into both plots. Not a soap opera. Season 2 introduces more characters than Season 1, but almost everything is resolved in the end. We've watched scores of detective series and this is one of the best. We hope Season 3 is just as good.

Well, if you haven't noticed by now in this Swedish/Danish connection there seems to be an eerie, other worldly (both fig & lit) resemblance to "The Tunnel" with it's French/UK connection. The connection extends further in that both series have a pair of detectives one of which is female (Saga/Elise). Furthering this resemblance pairing both have some Aspergers type behaviors. Both are accompanied by a slightly polar opposite male detective. Both series take advantage of recent events in solving the current vogue of criminal activities as well as old standards. As an aside I think Saga, "The Bridge" seems to more authentically maintain her Aspergers behaviors through out a series, but just a picky point. Both series do an excellent job of making the viewer feel as if present and a part of the investigative process.
