A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

I remember years ago when the hot and sexy Eva Longoria was on the hit night soap "Desperate Housewives" as a sexy colored bra wearing self centered wife who cheated on her husband who caused trouble. And it was a pleasure to watch her! Now she returns with this Spanish like soap "Telenovela" and it's real funny and tries to be a catch with the witty and smart lines! Eva is Ana a soap actress who's trying to make her way after a break up and it's an adventure to deal with the other cast members every episode as it's about finding love and friendship while contending with off and on the set drama. And it's a tease of laughs and sex appeal as Ana dresses very sexy a real eye candy treat! Anyone should know anything with Eva Longoria in it should be a watch she's so sexy!

I cannot believe anything this NOT FUNNY would be given a series. The basic problem here is the writing. It is stale and awkward and totally devoid of anything even remotely funny. The characters are just embarrassingly bad - particularly the "Gay best friend".Eva Longoria just cannot do comedy. She has a very limited range. Comedy is not within that range. There is also absolutely NO chemistry between Longoria and Levy. Latinos deserve a genuinely funny sitcom - this is so NOT it. Watch it quickly, it will not be around past the initial ten episodes. Thank Goodness.

I had some doubts about this show, but I like to give it a chance whenever I can, and after 3 episodes, I have to say that it was surprisingly good, it's a nice TV show, it's unique and have good material to work with, so I hope this doesn't get a lazy show. It's funny to see Eva Longoria in such a comic character, she really plays well this type of character without seeming forced, and I like her relationship with Xavier but I wanna see how will she manage to keep in the show without speaking Spanish....It's going to be hilarious! So well done NBC, keep going because I'm stick with this show to see how far it can go.

Bright, VERY colorful and amusing comedy about a beautiful actress (Eva Longoria) who's the star of a Spanish soap opera (they're called telanovels). She has to deal with back-stabbing costars, her hunky ex (who is playing her love interest in the show) and various attractive men and women. It moves QUICKLY, has a bright tight script, good acting (Longoria is obviously having fun) and has plenty of cheesecake AND beefcake (a running joke has a particularly handsome muscular guy constantly tearing his shirt off). The plot has been done before but it's done well here. Hopefully it can be consistently clever and funny for a long run. Recommended.
