Strange World is an American television program about military investigations into criminal abuses of science and technology. ABC commissioned 13 episodes, of which three aired in March 1999, before the network cancelled the program. The remaining ten episodes produced subsequently premiered on the Sci-Fi Channel in Spring 2002. The series was created by Howard Gordon and Tim Kring. In a webchat during the 2002 run on Sci Fi, Gordon stated that, since the producers felt ABC was not going to support the show, the producers had the opportunity to write a conclusion to the story.

Strange World Audience Reviews

MoPoshy Absolutely brilliant
Stoutor It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.
Megamind To all those who have watched it: I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
trigaba Yeah, that's right, I said it. Big deal, vanna fight about it? As one of the few hardcore sci-fi geeks who DIDN'T like the X-Files, Strange World really filled in that gap. Gordon took what he learned at X-Files and made it better. No more far-fetched stories that were here today, gone tomorrow. No more ridiculously-formulaic story structure (FBI agents investigate phenomena, stop threat, then go back to bureau and wait to investigate again). In Strange World, we got a man constantly haunted by his disease and his dependencies, as well as the group who's after him. He's a more down-to-earth character, dealing with more down-to-earth sci-fi mysteries that are more interesting because they feel more real, not some ridiculous story about vampires or computer vixens or people who can control the weather. Hopefully, it will be on DVD soon, and you can all see for yourself that talk about Strange World.
maggie-33 This show is an interesting take on the classic sci-fi conspiracy tv show. the character of Paul Turner played by Tim Guinee is very well played. Because the show was/is written by the "X-files" gang it would have been very easy for Guinee to turn Turner into a Mulder-like character,(Mulder and Turner are written virtually the same) however Guinee saves his character and makes him much more realistic. Guinee turns his character into a man searching for a way to avoid being trapped between to organizations who are keeping the truth from him instead of into a raving maniac who sees little green men in the bushes.(sorry Mr.Duchovny) All in all this show is far better than I even dreamed it could've been, why it was cancelled to begin with is a mystery to me but now that it's back it's great. Oh and by the way it's on The Sci-Fi channel, you'll have to check your listings though.
knowzee I consider myself fortunate in that we saw almost all the episodes in SA. Outstanding concept, well mixed with drama, mystery, excitement and, best of all, a marvellous human emotional slant.Contrary to what studio executives may think, we really do need a continuation of this series.
pj-25 Why was it canceled so suddenly?I know thats how T.V.is today, but it was just "picking up speed".
