To all those who have watched it: I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

Sanford Arms (1977) was a spin-off from the highly successful Sanford and Son. Instead of kow-towing to the demands of the star Redd Foxx and not offering the salary that Demond Wilson deserved for carrying the show, the producers in their infinite wisdom decided to change the format of the show. A single father and his children become the new owner and residents of the Sanford Arms Hotel, a boarding house that was owned by Fred Sanford and managed by Aunt Esther. Despite the appearances of the latter series guest stars, the show never was a ratings winner and it died after the first four episodes. Next time the producers should open up their check books instead of pulling the purse strings.Lame attempt to keep a successful series on the air.Not recommended.

Sanford Arms had nothing to do with Sanford and Son, other than some new characters were now living in the Sanford house and running the apartment building next door. Teddy Wilson, who had roles on That's My Mama and Good Times, was the new owner of the house, and he stayed there with his daughter. Aunt Esther, Grady and Bubba were still around, but they were the only connection to the old show.
