The Worst Film Ever

The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.

This is fantastic. The writing is superb. It's a completely faithful adaptation of the source material. Beautifully acted. And let's be honest Cornwall is an amazing setting.

Having seen the trailer, I was expecting something very very good BUT what I got was INCREDIBLE, FANTASTIC & BELIEVABLE viewing which transported me along the beautiful roads and countryside of 18th century Britain and along the way I was introduced to the best eye-popping candy I have seen in decades.....the delectable Aidan Turner. It was so good in fact that I immersed myself in the whole of the 1st and 2nd series in one weekend ....so ladies, my suggestion to you is to do what I did, put away your vacuums, dishcloths and pegbags, put your mobiles on silent, make some coffee and sit back and take in all that is magical and exciting right from the first minute of my most favorite series EVER.
I hope you enjoy it as much.....

Let me preface this by saying that I'm a 20 year old college guy who was just bored on Prime TV looking for something to watch, and was not expecting to enjoy a "romance drama" as much as this. In fact I cannot even believe I'm fond enough of this show to write a brief review about it. Is it slow? Yes. Is there a ton of action and crazy stuff going on? No. But it hooked me in nonetheless. I found the main character Ross Poldark to be very intriguing to watch and figure out what he was all about. I think Aidan Turner does an awesome job portraying the rough around the edges, yet tender character of Ross. Also, the other lead actors and actresses playing characters such as Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson), Elizabeth (Heida Reed) and others do a fantastic job. I was expecting corny nonsense in a genre like this, but that's not the case. I think that comes from having a story based off a well respected author. Also, the visuals and soundtrack are absolutely phenomenal. I think that half the reason I watch is to see the gorgeous shots of Cornwall (aka the Cornish Riviera), along with the brilliant soundtrack by Anne Dudley which provide for some heart stopping moments. The intro and transitions in this show are some of my favorite parts of it, and that is not to dash the story, but simply meant to show just how amazing they are. Give it a watch! My only complaint would be some of the unrealistic outcomes from certain plots in the story which I don't want to give away that left me feeling a bit like "cmon...there's no way that was actually supposed to happen". Nevertheless, a great show. Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I did.

This program is a total snore fest!Though I like the time period which the store is depicted. In the program, I had higher expectations based on the previous reviews, however, it goes to show that some review can sometimes be very esoteric in nature, none more so than this.I also appreciate the writer's attention to the audience as they reveal the various foreshadowing of the characters, yet I still remain unmoved by their efforts. Maybe it's just me, try it (at least) and see for yourselves. Hopefully, no one's offended
