Sorry, this movie sucks

If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

Jesse Parker (Sam Page) rescues a mysterious girl during a storm in the beach community of Point Pleasant, New Jersey. The girl is Christina Nickson (Elisabeth Harnois) with supernatural powers who is born to The Dark One and an innocent woman. Christina is uncertain of her origins and is searching for her mother. Judy Kramer (Aubrey Dollar) befriends Christina and her parents (Susan Walters, Richard Burgi) take her in still suffering from the death of their daughter Isabelle. Christina's powers pulls in Jesse and threatens his girlfriend Paula Hargrove (Cameron Richardson). The Dark One's minion Lucas Boyd (Grant Show) arrives in town to watch over Christina. The show starts out with an interesting premise. It reveals way too much too early. Instead of revealing the story little by little, it dumps everything right away and struggles to move on. It also becomes too soapy with too many characters. It needs to settle down to a few core characters in a group around Christina. It also has clashing tones. Sometimes it has the Gothic religious overtones. Then it's beautiful girls in bikinis with teen drama. I also wonder if the show should lessen the adult stories and concentrate on Christina and the teen characters.

i think that this series was good, had a good story, acting was something to be desired most times but good.... i agree that its a shame that it was cancelled after only one season but doesn't it always happen to the great ones.... just look at Firefly that should of gone on for yrs on my opinion but hey to FOX and other corporations like that don't give a frick bout what the public think do they....??Anyway good series, should be finished. how can you leave a series like that anyway..? the episode they used for the last on the boxset should of been carried on... you cant leave a series and cancel it with that ending its gonna Hack people off.....

I wonder why it is here in America that when ever we get a decent show the idiot networks cancel it. Everything from Harsh Realm to American Gothic. Shows that are witty and well written and you actually enjoy watching. Instead we get the Americanized versions of reality shows (and yes the European versions are usually a whole lot better). This show was in now way perfect but was moving along at a very nice pace and could have been really good if they had just finished it. I do not understand why corporate execs think that we here in this country can not think on our own and when we finally get a show that might be even the tiniest smidgen of controversial (especially with religious overtones) the networks yank it. I understand the this is a Christian (haha) country but gives us a break. Those of us that actually like to keep an open mind do not seem to get a break from the rest of the country. PLEASE Give us good TV for a change.

I absolutely loved this show. It was the one show during the time of its run that I looked forward to every week.Elisabeth Harnois and the rest of the cast were great, and the story got better and more intense every week.Sadly, this was one of the most poorly promoted and scheduled television shows ever... no one ever even knew about it! Giving it one of the worst and most inappropriate names ever didn't help either.I suppose some thanks should be given for the DVD release.... at least I'll be able to see the episodes that were STOLEN from me when the show was AXED because of network STUPIDITY.
