Good story, Not enough for a whole film

Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

Jordan (Scout Durwood) and Paige (Jessica Rothe) are best friends and L.A. roommates who are trying to get their legal marijuana delivery business onto The Green 15.The girls are hot and charismatic to boot. They are a fun buddy comedic mix together. Paige is a bubbly valley blonde and Jordan is the tough chick. The girls talk fast and talk about anything. The writing is not that great. It's trying to be an irreverent take on L.A. life but it is always too broad. The side characters are lacking. It needs at least two more main characters to start and it shouldn't any of the actors already on the show. Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan as a writing team is a hit and miss proposition for the most part and that's this show.

Just watched four episodes in a row. I guess you can make yourself not like Mary and Jane, or it just might not be the type of humor you appreciate. Both of the main actors have comedic talent, and the writing is good. It's fast paced and some of the humor is subtle. I like Broad City, Inside Amy Schumer, Key and Peele. Actually. Mary and Jane is a better two girl buddy show than Broad City, but not as bitingly funny as Inside Amy Schumer. Hope you give it a chance and don't be put off by people who like to feel "superior" by dissing shows they don't really understand, or those who have not watched enough to know why Mary and Jane is a half hour program instead of a five minutes one.

I love that cannabis is getting mainstream but just once I'd like to see a show about people who are intelligent, because the whole all pot smokers are dumb stoners angle is played out. And frankly this portrayal is just awful. So this show is about 2 women who are a pot delivery service, and so far they just keep spouting off useless things that have no baring in reality or relevance, to anything anyone would ever say in real life, sober or stoned. I think they were going for funny, quirky and happy but they come off as dumb, bland, and seriously in need of better monologue.5/10 because despite the bad writing their acting is actually not half bad. If they bring in a half way decent writer and try something new like.. making the girls sound like they have a brain cell left, then and only then will this show make it beyond a few episodes.
