This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

This series depicts the life of the famous traveller Marci Polo in his journey around the Mongol Empire.At the beggining when i saw the series i wasn't very interested in seeing it but when I watched the first episode i immediately started to love it.The series introduces interesting characters to the story as well as the series takes us to interesting and exotic places. Although not every episode is great the whole plot so far has been portrayed in an enjoyable way.The ending of the seasons so far have been interesting and they make up interesting episodes.The plot twists are interesting and unexpected.The series also shows the dark and good parts about the Mongol Empire.In my opinion having seen other series this one is one of the best and even though it is underated it deserve another season.I recommend it to people who have interest in this setting.The way the series has ended it has left me and many other fans anxious to see what happens next.I had recommend it to other people and so far all of them like and I hope this article inspires more people to watch it. I also hope that the show would be renewed for another season.

I know few critics say it is not good or something like this. I would say it is a series equal to games of thrones and in some ways exceeds it. The plots and everything is so much interesting. I would really love to watch Season 3. No hurry, when NETFLIX feels people are ready for this kind of Grand series then.

This show has many bad reviews from critics, also the name is not very enticing "marco polo" maybe "the khan of khans" would have enticed me more, gave this a try as was recommended by a friend and love it.I loved all aspects of it, even though not factually based on history, there was enough realism and creative writing for me to not be affected by it. The portrayal of kublai is amazing, not that i have a reference for it but I would say had the main actor had better writers directing his journey, he could possibly have gone on the list of 100 greatest characters of TV ever.This show could have been the sopranos, kublai has the feel of tony soprano to him, violent but then something about him makes you want to root for him but once kublai killed the little child, there was no way back and the writers killed the show for me, the show then kept trying to throw insane and sick turns at every aspect which could have been done later in seasons. i could not watch and feel any sympathy for him kublai or want him to win or anything, if tony had killed a child in season 2, the show would never have lasted 7 seasons. so much potential and maybe rightfully so it was cancelled, not that it was not very good and the actors were not perfectly cast but the writers character development of the main character ruined the longevity of the show and the development of the story. season 1 was refreshing and something new, season 2, trying to take extreme turns in story too much. if they would have named the TV series kublai, they could have killed off marco polo because as season 2 wore on he just seemed irrelevant and the most important person in the show was kublai.Watch it and give it a chance, it is very good. just don't expect to feel the same enjoyment watching it after kublai makes a stupid turn in season 2 and onwards.

Missing the standard disclaimer:"All characters and events depicted in this film are entirely fictitious."Any similarity to actual events or persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental."A great shame it's tagged under "History".Would have been a passable soap opera with truly fictional names.
