Paynbob It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

williswalton The M*A*S*H comedy tells the story of the mobile army surgical hospital in the Korean war as they treat the wounded and share laughs and tragedy. It starts with the two alcoholic surgeons trapper Joe and hawk-eye pierce. With frank ferret face burns and hot lips houlihan, with the commanding officer colonel Henry Blake, company clerk radar o'Riley, and clinger who is trying to get out of the army by pretending to be a woman. Finally the chaplan camp priest. This crew work together saving lives and rarely losing lives. Then finally Henry gets his orders that he is going stateside in America but while Henry is traveling the plane that he is on gets shot down. then trapper leaves and so captain honeycutt arrives and so Pierce soon and honeycutt become great alcoholic friends then after frank becomes the commander of the camp comes army surgeon colonel Sherman potter. Then frank becomes sad because he has lost command then later he finds out the Margaret/hot lips houlihan his war lover gets engaged and becomes enraged and finally leaves M*A*S*H then major Charles Winchester arrives who gets transferred from Tokyo much to his anger. Then radar leaves leaving clinger to be company clerk and that is the basics of the TV comedy series M*A*S*H. It is one of the best TV series out there and i recommend it to anyone young or old who likes a good laugh. Thanks this me signing off thanks again for letting me share this review.

Due to the horrific injuries they encounter on an almost daily basis the surgeons and staff use humour to cope with the horrors they see. They may rebel against army rules and may be practical jokers but are all professionals and are dedicated to their work.The series focuses mostly on these characters, Captain 'Hawkeye' Pierce(Alan Alda)the unit's wisecracking chief surgeon, strict head nurse Major Margaret Houlihan(Loretta Swit),Corporal Max Klinger who's so desperate to go home he even wears women's clothes to appear crazy, Captain 'Trapper' John McIntyre(Wayne Rogers)who's Hawkeye's best friend and fellow surgeon, Trapper is later replaced by Captain B.J Hunnicut(Mike Farrell)a man who's desperate to get back to his wife and family.There's also the unit's priest the kind Father Mulcahy(William Christopher), Corporal Walter 'Radar' O'Reilly(Gary Burghoff)the unit clerk, Major Frank Burns(Larry Linville)a surgeon who loves to make life hell for everyone else in the unit especially Hawkeye who has great fun in giving Frank a taste of his own medicine. Major Burns is later replaced by Major Charles Winchester(David Ogden Stiers)a pompous and cultured surgeon who loves the good things in life be it caviar or classical music. There's also the fun loving Nurse Kellye Yamato(Kellye Nakahara).The unit commanders are Colonel Henry Blake(McLean Stevenson)Blake is very laid back and is always getting complaints from Major Burns about what he perceives to be the things wrong with the unit. Blake is later replaced by Colonel Sherman Potter(Harry Morgan)a veteran of WW1 and WW2 he's a tough man with a heart of gold and is a fine surgeon too.Major Winchester and Major Houlihan are the two characters who change the most throughout the series. Winchester gradually becomes one of the boys and is accepted by the others. Once Major Burns has left Major Houlihan becomes much nicer and she and Hawkeye develop a close friendship and she becomes much more likable.MASH ran for eleven years and was one of the first series that mixed comedy with very serious and moving moments. You care about the characters and the challenges and tragedies they face and realise that the wild behaviour they engage in(drinking, bickering,practical jokes)is their way of coping with what they see on an almost daily basis.Funny, moving and featuring superb performances from the entire cast MASH is without a doubt one of the best TV series to have ever been made.

April Twist No words can perhaps sum up what I think of this show. I absolutely love this show! I was practically raised on it and even as I watch it now I do not get tired of it one bit. Who could possibly hate the crew of the 4077?? They're witty, funny and very easy to relate to.There's the woman-hungry Hawkeye Pierce and his sidekick married man but also woman hungry Trapper John McIntyre(later becoming family man B.J Hunnicutt), the goofy C.O. Henry Blake later replaced by the stern Sherman Potter, there's tattle-tale Frank Burns (later on sent off and to come take the place is Boston man Charles Winchester III) and love interest head nurse and feminist type (in my opinion) "Hot Lips" Margaret Houlihan, then there's the naive country boy Radar O'Reilly, cross dressing lunatic Klinger and of course the holy priest Father Mulcahy. All of them under the strains of the Korean War trying to save the many lives that come their way in their hospital.For a long time this show became my obsession and I was the oddball for a very long time until high school at least. Couple of friends actually watch the show on reruns occasionally but never up to my standards when it came to obsession. That was fine, at least they knew the show.Even by today's standards of television, this show is still highly praise for its comedy but also reminders of war. And as it rests, it is still one of the greatest shows of all time. Watch it. You won't regret it.

ywilliam31 This is my favorite TV show that I own. I love the way the characters deal with the never ending war that they were in. My favorite seasons are 1-3 because Henry and Trapper were the funniest characters in the show. Once they left, the show kind of lost it's funny edge, even when Frank left. Winchester brought more of a darker tone to the show. But, every time I see the last episode, I want to watch the series all the way from the beginning again. I love this show to death, when I got the complete series, the box scratched all of the DVDs, so if you want to buy the series, get the seasons separate. It worth all the money you pay. If you haven't seen the show, watch it, it is on TV Land every weekday at 5PM. Trust me, It is a great show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
