For all the hype it got I was expecting a lot more!

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

There is so much not to like about this show it's hard to know where to start. Unlikeable characters, horrible plot lines, terrible writing, AND terrible acting. Don't even get me started on the obnoxious theme music. On top of all that the show is out of touch with U.S. audiences due to the heavy Canadian references all throughout it. "Oh say Derek, will you be going to Queens College in the Fall?! How have you bean? We should go oot." Granted, other shows are filmed in Canada for financial reasons like Stargate: Atlantis, but while those shows may have suffered from some annoyances (like Rodney calling a Z-P-M a "Zed-P-M") the show didn't focus on life in Canada.MTV is running Degrassi (another show based on the experiences of the Canadian teenager) during daytime hours when no one is watching to fill time (most teens are at school when it airs). I'd wager it's for the same reason. Shows that focus on teenage life in Canada don't translate well to a U.S. audience. This show should be canceled and the remaining masters burned in a furnace.

I am an older viewer, my son and I both love to watch this show, and wish it were on more regularly. The other problem is that it is produced in Canada (Canada isn't the problem). We in the US cannot download any of the past episodes, and have to wait for Disney Channel to show them. I think this show is creative, original and a nice change from much of the other teen-type shows that are over-dramatic.Also, if I were 10 years younger, Ashley Leggat would be a major crush of mine! I hope this show continues, and hopefully we can see all the episodes here in the US!Kevin

At least that's what I think. Casey and Max's relationship has lasted very long, and when they broke up, that was a big plot point. Then, I just got finished watching a new episode where they talk about if they want to get back together. The end to that was kind of a blur, and also Sally had kinda changed Derek's evil ways. So that's also a major plot point. If you ask me, if something like that ends up being introduce in a late episode, there is most likely going to be another season so we can actually see how the new plot points turn out. I enjoy the show very much, and I hope it keeps going on! Good luck to all the actors and actresses of LWD. We hope you keep the show going strong!

One thing to keep in mind is that Life with Derek is not your typical G-rated Disney show. The show is simple enough for someone under the age of 10 to watch, but a great portion of the show could only fully be understood by ages 10 in up in my opinion. I would call Life with Derek the perfect show for teenagers. Myself being 20, I love the show as well.My favorite reason being how hilarious the constant cat and mouse chase between Derek and Casey is in every episode. Derek always seems to be one step ahead of Casey, no matter what. Every time you think Casey has done something to pull ahead of Derek, Derek strikes back with another ace up his sleeve. Most of the time the episode ends with the two on even grounds, but that is not always the case.Though Derek and Casey are the two main characters of the show, they couldn't do it without a terrific supporting cast. The parents, George and Nora are perfect. The two parents are different personality wise, as George seems to be like Derek: Carefree, relaxed and loose. Nora, on the other hand, is like Casey: Serious, determined and plays by the rules. The other kids in the household complete the family tree in nothing short of spectacular fashion. Edwin and Lizzie are two similar aged kids, and though Edwin is a boy and Lizzie is a girl, Edwin is the wuss and Lizzie is the tough one. Edwin doesn't quite have the carefree personality as Derek (yet). Lizzie has a tough-girl personality that Casey could only dream of. And who could forget Marti, every families typical obnoxious yet cute youngest child. In conclusion, Life with Derek is a high quality effort like most of Disney's non-animated shows. I am glad Disney picked this up, as each episode is an entertaining circus that sucks you in.
