Best movie ever!

Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

I love this series - to me it's how a TV-show should be. I love the characters but the show is not about them, it's about the cases. So there's a real slow character-development, but it doesn't interfere with the storylines and I think that's good. My favourite part of the series is Tim Roth, but what bothers me is that there's no way a West Ham-fan would run around with a scarf in Arsenal colours.

Indeed, after 1 seasons we would'ave expected more, however it was still a captivating show

Imagine someone as abrasive and inappropriate as House, and you've got Tim Roth as Dr. Cal Lightman. Dr. Lightman's company specializes in discerning whether or not people are telling the truth. They work with all areas of law enforcement, including the FBI, corporations, and different government departments. Their work is based on the research of Dr. Paul Ekman, who served as an adviser on the series. The work of the Lightman Group revolves around reading people's facial expressions, voices, eye pupils, and gestures to tell if someone is being truthful.Cal's business partner Gillian is played by the beautiful Kelli Williams, and her cool, calm demeanor is wonderful juxtaposition to Lightman's often flamboyant behavior. Tim Roth, sporting his Cockney accent, is quirky Lightman to a T- he stands in people's personal space, looks them straight in the eye, and tells them they're lying. The rest of the cast - Brendan Hines, Monica Raymond, Hayley McFarland, and Mekhi Phifer provide excellent support.Original and offbeat, "Lie to Me" is an excellent series that unfortunately only ran three years. It's well worth seeing.

I have watched all of season 1, which totally blew me away. Absolutely brilliant, lovely, entertaining, educational, interesting, exciting, funny, with one surprise after another.I am just now finishing season 2, which I am sorry to say in my opinion the show starts heading for a nosedive. Strangely, I have read other reviews saying seasons 2 and 3 were BETTER than season 1, so that made my disappointment a bit more poignant. I was expecting better.Rather than getting "better," it got more "action" and "action-suspense" driven, with plenty of violence with "wilder" stories (wilder as opposed to more fascinating).I still like the show enough to continue watching and expect to finish through all three seasons, but if season 3 is anything as "action-devoted" as season 2, I'll be doing a lot of fast-forwarding (like I eventually had to do with season 2 in order to get myself to even keep watching). So many trashing "cheap thrills" from serial killers to prostitutes -- which I would much rather see their faces when Cal and the others are questioning them rather than "on the beat." This is a show that was fascinating WITHOUT the action-adrenaline rushes, Why did they have to ruin it? What happened? Did they lose key writers from the first season? I do not know. If season 3 actually starts to veer up toward the high quality of season 1 I'll update this review later to let you know!
