The new knight rider is definitely different from the old knight rider, therefore you should not expect it to be a follow-up. I don't quite get why so many reviews are negative. Nonetheless I loved watching every single episode of this awesome series and I can say with confidence that this is by far my favourite series. The main character (mike) is driving an updated version of KITT (a, in my opinion, much cooler version). KITT has a wild variety of new functions and can even transform. The storyline is mostly based around the problems and adventures Knight Industries go through. The special effect are pretty good and the characters are really convincing (in my opinion).

So, when this first came out, there was a hope for a good show. Unfortunately several things let it down. 1. A very poor cast and terrible acting. 2. The show tried to incorporate too many characters and had poor scripts trying to fit them all in on each episode. In addition, the show went from One Man helping people to grand stories involving governments and end-of-the-world stories. 3. Terrible CGI and instead of using the nano skin concept from the pilot they went down the Transformers route. Any way for Ford to get as many of their models into the show, same thing happened in Team Knight Rider.The show did get better towards the end of it's run once they killed off a lot of the cast and got back to the premise of one man and one car with a small group of supporting cast. Had the show ran it's full episode amount for the first season, it may have got more viewers and made it to a second season. A lot of interesting story lines were started, but some where left unfinished, others rushed to conclusion. They did miss out on, what could have been a great 2 part episode, when the introduced K.A.R.R. Unfortunately making it a robot, aka a Transformer, and having probably the worst CGI I have seen outside of a B-Movie Sci-Fi special, created a major let down. Had this episode been up to the expectations of the fans, it may have saved the show as it was the jump off point where the show got back to the story lines of the original.Only 2 things were good in this show. Val Kilmer as K.I.T.T and the Mustang.Next time, leave Ford and the writers of this incarnation, out of the equation and we could have a good show.

Rather like Cuprinol it does exactly what it says on the tin. As a child I adored the first one. I mean seriously, who didn't zoom around their back garden pretending they had a KITT? Yes the new series is never going to be the TV show recommended by brain surgeons, but it is fantastic at being what it is supposed to be. Fun, sexy, entertaining and with a superb Kitt upgrade. Val Kilmer as the voice is just perfect. Are we having another series? It would be a great shame if not. Lost went on for 6 whole seasons and it just isn't that great. Greys Anatomy is in season 6 or 7 and can hardly be described as brain candy! Bring back another season of Knight Rider. Sexy cast, unbelievable and highly entertaining story lines and a sexy car with an equally sexy driver and theme tune. I want a KITT, but will settle for another season and my old ford fiesta.
