I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.

Excellent but underrated film

As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

If Jericho is about anything it is about characters. Average people from all walks of life who find themselves in a little Kansas town the day the United States was hit by the largest terrorist attack in history. It is about how these people survive when the world is falling apart around them. Survival in the face of a world in chaos is at the heart of every great zombie tale and here it is sans zombies.
Jericho develops all of their characters as real identifiable people right from the beginning and wastes no time in throwing you into their situation with a big bang. Their relationships and their struggles are all written nicely and it is easy to get wrapped up in the characters' stories. Like all shows some stories work while others flounder. On one hand you get a great character developing story like Stanley and Mimi (Steami) and on the other you get young Dale's transformation from high school student to thug which, although naturally developing, makes you wish the show had made him a less important character sometimes. My only gripe with the show is that, after an amazing first season the show was cancelled and, facing pressure from the fans, it was brought back for a meager second season that was not made to continue the story, but rather to give the people some small measure of closure. It feels like things are wrapped up far too quickly. It is interesting to ponder how great the show could have been had it continued for a few more seasons.

I just finished watching this series and I'm also interested in seeing more of it if someone is willing to produce it (I've already offered to sponsor another one that I thought it would last forever and got pretty bumped when it hit the can cause it was my favorite; That sponsoring deal it will happen if I ever get the cash of course. But someone else should offer for this one I can't do all of them). Well to conclude with this some of us got used to it and it gets easier every time; we've learned to enjoy them while they last. There are many TV shows suspended and as many still going on and on and on for years. For example there's one that started since before I was born and still airing and I'm 32 years old; it's got up to season 40something for crying out loud there are people that never got to see the end of it and they probably hung in there pretty tough, they may even be watching it from Heaven right now ... :)) I'm just kidding there, if they're in Heaven they've already seen THE END.

I saw this had good reviews and rating on IMDb. "Probably worth a watch" I thought to myself. But its so full of stupidity and nonsense that I just cant stand it. I mean hell in the last episode I watched for instance there was a scene where a live power line touching a concrete floor caused a goddamn explosion. Because that is a thing that happens. Or immediately afterwards where a firefighter goes into a burning building to rescue some people, and because a single burning 2x4 falls near the door he suddenly treats it as impassable. So their idea on how to survive inside of this burning building which there is as far as they know no effort to put it out is to wedge some stuffed snakes into the bottom door crack and moisten them. Now you could ignore how terrible a plan that is, and you could even ignore the fact they don't pay any attention to any of the other door cracks (suspension of disbelief and all that), but when they are completely ignoring the ***10 foot window*** right next to the door they are frantically stuffing a snake under and its just... What am I watching?! Every episode has been full of things like this though, which is the worst part.Or ignoring the stupidity there is other issues like insane coincidences and ridiculous timings of things. For example the main character gets to a person who has a crushed throat. They have had a crushed throat for about 10 hours at that point, but only when the main character gets to them does it become an issue?!A waste of time.

Jericho has a fantastic premise: the result of a nuclear Armageddon on a small Kansas town.Unfortunately, the show can be melodramatic in its romance plots and in after school special moments such as the broken-hearted teenager who always does the right thing, with too soulful and heavy handed music. Being understated is best.On top of that, the ensemble cast has nearly 20 main characters, so we don't get to know any of them well. The plots are necessarily shallow. For characters to make choices that seem realistic, we need to get to know their motivations and goals. For this reason it is not nearly as interesting as The Walking Dead.On the positive side, Jericho does not have the trap that Deadwood had, the Old West TV show. Deadwood never seemed to go anywhere. The characters didn't have clear goals and a high-level direction. In Jericho you always know what the town and individuals goals are scene to scene. It's worth watching, just not the best. My trick? I fast forward through the lingering looks.
