Good Morning, Miss Bliss is an American teen sitcom that aired on the Disney Channel from 1988 to 1989, starring Hayley Mills as a teacher at John F. Kennedy Junior High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. The show was originally a pilot for NBC, which was inspired by NBC president Brandon Tartikoff's idea for a show about an "inspiring" teacher. NBC decided not to pick up the pilot, but Disney Channel did, premiering the show on November 30, 1988, and airing it for one season. The show was later retooled as Saved by the Bell, with much of the same cast but without Mills, and with a different setting. The latter show focused on the students rather than the teacher, and had a much more successful run.

Good Morning, Miss Bliss Audience Reviews

Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Ceticultsot Beautiful, moving film.
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Tymon Sutton The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
Xiaowen Yang I love Good Morning, Miss Bliss! I don't understand why some people don't like it... it's got a great plot and amazing characters! Miss Bliss is such an inspiring teacher, with great personality. Zack, Lisa, Mikey, Nikki, Screech, etc all represented the diversity of junior high. The show is really funny and you will love each character! GMMB represented my childhood... each episode was unique and interesting. I watch it now regularly because it's truly a great show. The themes in each episode are relevant and are greatly enhanced by Miss Bliss, Miss Paladrino, Mylo and Mr. Belding as well as all of the students mentioned above. I highly recommend watching this show... it is AMAZING!! It may be old and it may be 80's, but the plot and characters are things that will always stay with you and the laughs you get will be irreplaceable. This is a great pre-show to Saved by the Bell.
kjs1972 It's funny that it says if you like Good Morning Miss Bliss, you'll like "Alf". Has anyone on "Miss Bliss" been caught smoking crack on hidden camera lately like the father on "Alf"? LOL. Sorry to say I never got turned on to "Alf". Although Alf is better looking than anyone else on that show. Anyway, "Miss Bliss" could have been worse. Although I never saw the point to the show, I saw less of a point that Joan Ryan (Tina Paladrino) was on that show. What a goof. Hayley Mills should have thought twice. Dennis Haskins is a talented actor and also should have thought twice. I suppose he had to get his start somewhere. It was weird seeing the exact same school go from Indiana to California. "Saved By The Bell" was much more entertaining. It was even more entertaining to see that Slater never outgrew the mullet the entire time.
TheTVConnoisseur Good Morning, Miss Bliss is not as bad as people make it seem. It has plots similar to that of Saved by the Bell, with the exception of the romance but the major flaw that the show faces is humor. This is not a funny show! However, like SBTB the show does raise some questions like why does the Janitor hang out with the principal and teachers? Whatever the reasons I always like to ignore this show and just think of it as a rejected first draft.
sprockets86 As a kid born in 1985, I became of a learning age around 1990. At that time, SAVED BY THE BELL was just starting off. Zack, Slater, Kelly, Screech, Lisa, Jessie, Mr. Belding... they were all there. Reruns started about two years after that. And the reruns messed with my head. You see, I had no prior knowledge that this Bayside-based high school sitcom actually had roots in a former show entitled GOOD MORNING, MISS BLISS. But apparently everyone else had, so there were no explanations when these episodes were aired under the SAVED BY THE BELL moniker and threw my entire viewing experience off its axis.It was ve-e-e-ery '80s. Zack was pretty young (around 14 or 15?) and he was aside a prepubescent Screech and two new kids that seemed to be 1989 in the raw. Miss Bliss was weird; and the episode where they invest in potatoes is just damn bizarre.Like the entire show.
