Karry Best movie of this year hands down!
Stoutor It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.
FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
FrogGlace In other words, this film is a surreal ride.
Hitansh Shah Golden Time is a very nicely written romance anime with a new type of and a nice story. It is about a guy Tada Banri having lost his memories in an accident meeting an obsessive and immature as well as possessive girl Kaga Kouko and them ending up falling in love.Unlike another romance anime, this one sees their journey of being a couple too and the challenges that they face because of the girl's obsessiveness and the boy's dark past. The story is a dark one but you would feel it as a very light story while you watch because of the humor that the girl as well as their friends use. Also the soundtracks and the flashback scenes are very convincing.Surely the anime justifies it's title because when you finish the anime you will actually understand the reason behind the title. So guys I highly recommend this wonderful anime for you.
Horror Icon This popular anime is a perfect example of its genre. An amazing soundtrack accompanies the Shōnen storyline and its interesting cast of characters who provide ample humour. Kaga-san was, of course, my favourite character and was also voiced by my favourite voice actress/Japanese singer - Yui Horie. The opening theme, 'Golden Time', and ending theme, 'Sweet and Sweet Cherry', were both brilliant songs by Yui Horie. I was disappointed when these were replaced by other themes halfway through the series. 2D-kun and Mitsuo were the primary sources for humour. Despite a generally upbeat feel, the anime certainly takes dark turns, and these scenes are quite artistic. Flashbacks and dreams were excellent, and the portrayal of Banri's ghost was also engaging. I highly recommend this outstanding anime.
Tweekums When protagonist Tada Banri starts at university he is completely lost but soon he meets makes friends with Mitsuo Yanagisawa who is also lost. He also meets the beautiful Koko Kaga; a girl who is only attending the university because she is in love with Mitsuo… unfortunately the feelings are not reciprocated! Banri and Koko become friends and eventually she gets over Mitsuo and starts a relationship with Banri. Things won't be simple though as Banri has a secret; following an accident he has lost all his memories up to that point and doesn't realise that the girl who runs the club he and Koko joined is actually an old flame. When he starts to learn more about the past he fears what will happen if his memories return… will his old personality take over again and will he forget about Koko? This romantic comedy was more fun than I expected; amnesia may be one of the most overused clichés in anime but here it serves the story well and leads to some heart wrenching moments… right up until the end I was unsure how things would work out. There are also plenty of laughs to be had… especially when the 'Tea Party Club' are involved! Things may get more serious towards the end but the change of mood is done in a way that doesn't make one think it feels like a different show. The characters are likable with a great central cast and a well-rounded cast of supporting characters. Overall I really enjoyed this series, feeling that it got better as it progressed; I'd certainly recommend it to anybody wanting a bittersweet romantic comedy. These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.
mongoosetick Tada Banri, a newly admitted student at a private law school in Tokyo, found himself completely lost after the opening ceremony, trying to find his way to the freshman orientation. At that moment, he ran into another lost freshman from the same school, Yanagisawa Mitsuo, and they hit it off at once. Somehow arriving at their intended goal just on time, there appeared in front of the two a beautiful girl holding a bouquet of roses. The girl then whacked Mitsuo across the face with the bouquet and handed the flowers over to him. "Freshman, congratulations", was all she said, and then left. The stylish, well dressed, perfect woman that had swung at Mitsuo was his childhood friend, Kaga Kouko. As children they had promised to marry each other one day, fulfilling their dreams. In order to escape from her, Mitsuo had gone out secretly and taken the examination for this well known private college, but now she showed up in the freshman orientation hall. She too had taken the law school entrance examination, catching up with him.
