Tayloriona Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
Stitched Wicked The first season was a little rough during the first few episodes. A few episodes in and then everything seemed to click and you end up with a truly bad ass story that's fast paced and carries through 3 seasons. I binged all 3 seasons on Netflix. Oh god...the Easter eggs. I am nuts about the Easter eggs and cameos. If you loved the movie (like any sane person does) then you'll love the show. I'm a geeky girl by nature (D&D, Masquerade, Shadowrun, etc.) and the snake vampires had fascinated me from the flick. Rodriguez didn't disappoint me at all with all the lore.If you also enjoy action packed scenes then this show has you covered. The re-watch ability value is high too because of all the Easter eggs. There's like 3 shows I can constantly re-watch.Casting was excellent. I loved each performance and discovered quite a few new faces that complimented the old. As for the Gecko brothers...I'm a red-blooded straight woman in her 30s. I went weak in the knees more than a few times. Many of the male leads were very nice on the eyes and talented. Quite a few of the female leads could tempt me to question my sexuality too.Overall there was great story backed by great lore. The soundtrack is awesome. The acting is superb. The cinematography is eye-catching. It was easy to become attached to the characters. Also, the eye candy was worth it. Sometimes the conveyed tension was scorching. If you don't at least watch it while it's available on Netflix you're crazy. After finishing all 3 seasons I can honestly say I have no regrets about ordering them on Blu-Ray for my collection.
daskunst The first season is a very extensive and amazing version of the movie. Of course there are parts added, but it is fully in the spirit of the movie, and very well written. The second season was a continuation of the first season, as if it was one ongoing story. However, about season III: wow. I think it's somewhat like the Godfather (comparison ends as is): part I is an epic tale, part II is rather good too, but season III is just the worst. What the f*** happened?! This is nothing like the first two seasons: the acting is (very!) cheap, the story is fully not connecting to the previous story, it's just... too simple. As if the budget was cut by 90%. This is like a new series trying to lift by on the success of the first two seasons. I just can't find the right words for how terrible this is... Like Scrubs: if you liked the first seasons, as I did very much, do not watch the last (/latest) season!!
grantss (Updated after Season 3).A series-length adaptation of the movie of the same name. That was written by Quentin Tarantino and directed by Robert Rodriguez. Now it's just the Robert Rodriguez Show...Story is the same. Two criminal brothers, Richie and Seth Gecko, are on the run from the law in Texas. They kidnap a man and his two children and cross the border into Mexico. There they end up at a bar where not everything is at it would seem...Like the movie, this started very well. While it was a crime-drama it was great: gritty, edgy and entertaining. Then, from a certain point it becomes a vampire/monster-drama and loses its edge. Becomes more a plain old action movie, with weird creatures.Season 2 tried to do something different, but in doing so lost focus and just ending up going in random, pointless directions. Right then the only reason to continue watching was Eiza Gonzalez...Unfortunately Eiza Gonzalez doesn't really have much screen time in Season 3, appearing briefly early on and then for the final two episodes. The plot in Season 3 is a bit more focused that S2, but that doesn't say much, plus it is focused on supernatural, style- over-substance nonsense. If S3 isn't the final season it is certainly, at least, my final season of watching From Dusk Till Dawn.
Eddie_weinbauer The acting is sub par. The dialogue is like something out of a school play, stilted and tacky Don Johnson must really be in great need of money for saying yes to this crap. The movie it's based on wasn't really that good either, which is probably why George clooney and Tarantino has nothing to do with the sequels. And the first one more or less ended up as a cult movie But this, this is just waste of money. They actors can't act(Aside from Don Johnson and Robert Patrick) They should all go back to acting school. Who on earth green lighted this show for two Seasons,it stinks. I don't mind the slightly gory effects. But the acting make me cringe.where did they find these guys? At a street corner with a sign saying: "Will pretend I can act, for food" by episode 4 there are still hardly any sign of vampires. And the story is jumbled and mostly told on weird incoherent flash backs
