h-christen Compelling series from The NetherlandsI like this series because of the believable stories and the acting of Cees Geel, Maryam Hassouni and Huub Stapel. There are separate cases in each episode, but there is a continuing story about Ben Slachter who is believed by Internal affairs, (here called "Rijksrecherche") to be corrupt.Of course there are flaws, like:SpoilersThe female detective walks in the police station, with the criminal, disguised as a police officer to get drugs from confiscated drugs. Just one signature at the desk seems to be enough... The two perpetrators behaved insane, yelling and constantly waving with guns.Of course I am Dutch and I even live in Rotterdam.So I want to comment on dubbel_v.The notaryThere was an investigation by Stan Vroom (Cees Geel), but he could not get a warrant for the vault because of the confidentiality. But there were CSI people at work (in Dutch they are called "Technische recherche") Cees Geel asked the secretary if she could imagine that there were clients with criminal links. Not if the notary was a criminal himself!The woman who kidnapped a severe criminalDubbel_v is nitpicking considering the terms here and is in my opinion incorrect. In The Netherlands is 15 hours for interrogation only at the police station. This can be extended to 3 days and is called "inverzekerkeringstelling". After that the suspect has to be brought to the "Rechter commissaris" and that is exactly what Hein Berg (Huub Stapel) is doing. He asks for "inbewaringstelling" for 14 days. That is the third phase in "voorlopige hechtenis".So to call him an idiot, well... Dubbel_v should check his knowledge of the Dutch language.The woman had a plan to punish the child molester. While she was in custody and she could not feed him in the cellar, she thought it would not be murder, because she was unable to feed him because of the custody.Huub Stapel said two things: 1/ The plan will work if the police isn't aware, but the police knows, so he gave her the choice to give the location. And then she would not be charged with murder.2/ The charge was giving help to the escape of a criminal. She refused earlier to give the location because of self incrimination. Huub Stapel says: if you tell us the location, it does not affect your charge of helping the escape. You only tell us where he is.So before writing a one-star review he should check his facts and listen carefully what is said in Dutch before calling Huub and the writers idiots...End spoilersI can recommend this, provided that there is an English translation, don't know if there is...

lcs-73372 After watching the whole first series which began a bit slow and boring it build up pretty good till the end and I must say I liked it very much.It has all you would expect from a dutch police series. It has a "rode draad" in all episodes nicely build up to the last episode and made you want to watch next weeks one.Comparing this to Flikken Maastricht it felt like it had lesser violence and felt much lesser of a show performance and much more like real life. Sure both differ from each other but just go watch this for yourselves.Personally I hope many more seasons will be coming!

dubbel_v The decisions of the characters/cops in the show are stupid and unprofessional and the show is lazy writing.In episode two a notary is abducted from his office. There are multiple clues that this a part of a crime; like lot's of blood in his office, his secretary telling the police that there must be a break-in and that somebody took him, the notary should be at the office but is not, signs of a break in, the whereabouts of the notary is unknown etc. The police however thinks there is no sign of a crime and don't even investigates until the body of the notary is found.After finding the body the police questions the secretary and the first question is: Was your boss a criminal and/or conducting criminal actions? There was absolutely no reason to ask this and of course the secretary gets mad at the officer for asking the question and doesn't want to answer anymore questions.The public officer, played by Huub Stapel, is also an idiot who does not know anything about the law. In the show they use legal terms but they don't even know what these terms mean. In episode two they put a suspect in 'bewaring' (temporary custody) while the subject should be put 'inverzekeringstelling' (police custody) first. Later in the show the public officer tells the suspect that she can testify that she committed murder because she was arrested for helping a TBS-er escape. So he stated that murder is not part of the charge and she will not incriminate herself this way.However the suspect was not even charged yet, but was put in temporary custody. A public offender can summon a suspect for a different crime then for the crime that he/she was arrested for. However the writer thinks that if you arrest somebody for shoplifting you can't summon him for murder after finding more evidence later etc.The show is full of such nonsense. You should avoid this.
