This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

Simply wonderful, a insightfull take on feminist revolution, fatfobia, bodychaming, objetification of women, the dissasfaction industry, and the role of media on making women feel bad about their bodies, their age, and so on...
Beautifully played by Joy Nash, dark humored and, intelligent.

I really enjoyed a show that has enough bravery not only to go beyond chick flick, but to actually challenge both patriarchy and feminism. It's both counter culture and counter extremism in my eyes.Is it about loving yourself regardless of what others and culture say? Is it about rejecting those who love you and are concerned for your health? Is it about a world where abuses are casual and daily? Is it ok to commit murder to fight back and then how far do you go in your rebellion- even if you start to become the oppressers?I love the fact I don't have answers. Love the plot and the characters. It certainly challenges how we are all influenced by culture and those around us.

"Back then, I didn't want to be the hero, I still wanted to be the hero's girlfriend." Watch it. Hell yes it's over the top, but it's amazing.

I haven't seen the whole series, but I like Dietland. Posters here have objected to Plum's passivity and desire to be thinner, but Plum, in a way, is a stand-in for the audience, who long to be thinner, younger, more glam, etc. but resist looking into the political and cultural systems that marginalize and impoverish them. I like the Brooklyn settings and NYC locale of the show. I hope this dark and well-written show gets a second season. All the characters are interesting and we need to get to know them better.
