Good concept, poorly executed.

The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

The title for the series "Desperate Housewives" was misleading when it was released for the first time in 2004, obviously, because you get the immediate feeling that the show is targeted at the female audience, however, the show not only includes female characters, it also includes male characters too, surprisingly enough. In my opinion as a male, Desperate Housewives, is brilliant! Susan, Bree, Lynette, Gabrielle and Edie, are 5 very different woman/characters, who all live on the same street in Fairview. You are introduced to each character properly so that you can get a good idea of what each woman is like and how they act. From the outside, you would think their lives are perfect. They all have huge houses, manicured lawns, high fashioned clothes and expensive cars, but what makes Desperate Housewives so interesting to me, is that you get to follow these woman through their imperfect lives. The series, at first, focuses on these characters, however, it doesn't take long for the other characters to be put under the microscope. Desperate Housewives includes nearly all life themes and problems that nearly every person watching it has experienced in their life. It has characters most of us can relate to. It has moments that require really good acting and my god... can the actors and actresses pull them off well! After watching the series more than once, I have noticed that the episodes start off with the theme of what the episode is all about, which could be money, loss, grief, betrayal and so on, then the title sequence with all the famous paintings portraying domesticity and interactions between men and woman since early mankind, then the episode starts off with a rather light atmosphere and then by the end, it has quite a sad and reflective atmosphere. I think this is done deliberately because life isn't always easy and all of us human beings are trying to live our lives as best we can but we all learn our biggest lessons from the mistakes we make. Desperate Housewives is original, clever, sometimes smug and offers really good socially awkward moments and really emotional sad moments. I think this series should be more appreciated. It definitely offered something new and different. I'm just gutted it ended.

I recently decided to binge watch the entire DH series after Lifetime decided they were going to cancel Devious Maids. I must say it was very hard to stop watching. Desperate Housewives unlike any other series I have yet to watch was extremely relatable. There were so many episodes that took real life situations that happen day to day and winded them into the lives of the characters. The writers and producers did an amazing job at making the series feel like home. I honestly was addicted to the show and one it ended it hit me like a bag of nickels. Each character has a very unique personality and its entertaining to see all of the conflicts that comes from the characters personalities clashing. I recently was able to tour wisteria lane (colonial street) and it is absolutely sunning to see the homes and and walk on the same lane that all of the amazing actors and actresses walked on. This show is a must watch for anyone.

Really a awful show, not sure how did it run for so long. Immature script/writings. Felicity Huffman acting is really good & worst is Teri Hatcher. The characters are so irritating and comedy bad to the core. After watching show i got so angry & irritated on the story / script writers and decided to write the review. This is the worst show i ever seen There is no mortal with in the story and lot of unnecessary sex. Writers have no common sense and missed on the big pic of Entertainment. People get influence with the TV show and its always better to tell story which inspire them in making a right chose or face the fact and over come the failure. The killing seems easy in the show.

I just finished the last episode of DHW and I just have to say that I am sad. I watched all 8 seasons on Netflix and I got so caught up in the drama that I would stay up until 12 sometimes 2 am watching it. I loved these women like I knew them. I felt every emotion with them, sad, happy, excited, heart broken, etc. If this series was brought back to television I would for SURE watch it. I am so happy that Tom and Lynette got back together, that broke my heart to see them break up. My favorite of all is definitely Susan! She is hilarious, cute, clumsy (like me), beautiful, smart and oh so witty! Thank you so much for such a wonderful show.
