Captivating movie !

Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast

How wonderful it is to see this fine actress carry a film and carry it so beautifully.
TrueHello
Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

I admire the character that Geena Davis plays in this series so much! She is the perfectly calm and knowledgeable leader you want at the helm of the U.S. government. What is missing from this depiction of this first-ever woman President is the constant 'running for the next election,' the photo ops, the PR being fed to the public, the meetings with money, the special interest groups, etc. What is front and center is the way the President responds to crisis because of the person she is. Which is, of course, noble and heroic. She is surrounded by people whom she must trust but probably realizes some are not trustworthy. Yet, she remains tactful. She remains polite and respectful. Maybe there will be a person who is female and impresses as much in future U.S. elections for President. We'll see!In the meantime, this is an entertaining and engrossing series to watch. I only wish there was a second season!

This was my favorite TV drama when it was on. It was an exciting hour! Geena Davis was PERFECT in the role of Commander in Chief -- we were so lucky that she stooped to television to play this role. The story lines were compelling and I was often on the edge of my seat as if I were watching some sort of adventure/thriller and not a political drama. The supporting cast were awesome. The story lines not only reflected history or current events but possible future scenarios in world affairs. We all know Washington is a full of people with the highest and lowest motives, and that it is a hotbed of public and private intrigue and drama. This show didn't shy away from that one bit. I loved every minute of it! I was so disappointed and dumbfounded when it was cancelled -- it seemed to me without warning. If they can't make a go of it again as a TV series, then they should definitely make a movie!

Considering the exceptional cast Commander in Chief never really rises above gentle wish fulfilment and earnest posturing. The problems are all due to the rather uninspired scripts. These people have spent their lives in politics, for God's sake, and then enter the White House behaving and acting like Saints. Does that ring true? The First Lady gag involving the President's husband is very poorly delivered. The President's Husband is a very badly drawn character. The family are two-dimensional. The Production values look good and the production design is very well done. With a wilder-than-fiction President already in Office in America it must be enormously hard to invent one and give it any sense of authenticity.

Commander in Chief is one of the best series we have seen, Geena is a great performer, and her performance is fantastic. The plot was good and believable, exciting and very very watchable. A long time since we had seen something so exciting, except of course 24.We have heard that series two will not be made or screened, this is a BIG mistake !!. However, we believe that because Hilary is a candidate for the presidency this is the reason that CinC Two will not be filmed, it would be like giving Hilary free hourly screening every week, and no doubt will help her become president, which wouldn't be so bad would it.So Guys, make amends and start filming series two...
