Club MTV was one of those shows that shouldn't have gone away in the first place. It was a pleasant memory of the earlier days of MTV when music was the focus of the network and not endless reality shows. Compared to shows today, Club MTV is pretty tame. It was taped at a popular dance club in New York City and hosted by East Coast or New York's Julie Brown. There were two Julie Browns on the network at the time and they were as different as night and day. New York's Julie Brown has a British accent, dressed trendy, and played with the language. The show was only a half-hour long and sometimes had club music and musicians come and perform for the dancers who were always more hip than the rest of us. Sadly like the MTV of my generation, Club MTV is only a distant memory but I'll always have my memories of Julie Brown and the dancers.
