Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film

tcalder87 The main problem with this show is that it doesn't know whether to take itself seriously or not, therefore we don't know whether to take it seriously or not - so it doesn't quite work as comedy OR drama. Quite enjoyable despite that and Mary Elizabeth Winstead is growing into a fine actor.

Darkly humorous and fearless, it uses the dark analogy of space bugs infiltrating the brains of people in Washington to illuminate what really goes on in Washington and how great power wielded by fallible humans can go terribly wrong. Running the government, just like making sausages, is not a pretty sight. It also provides the powerful message that is dawning on people across the country; that we need to think for ourselves and not believe what authority figures tell us - their motivations may not be in our best interests. Brilliantly written, acted, directed - it taps right into the insiders view of our current hideous political climate and brilliantly exposes it for the rest of us to see.

cmdinny First of all, I waffled over giving it a 10 or something lower because I really hate bugs! I love this show. I love all the casting on this show. I love the humans and the bug-infested humans. They have humor, passion, and wonderful character flaws! The best part of each episode is the musical recap of what happened previously. Quirky and memorable. I realize that CBS is not fully invested in this, basing my opinion on its Sunday night at 10 PM slot. This show is a great mix of information and comedy and imagination. I haven't enjoyed any broadcast TV show about politics since "The West Wing" left the airwaves. Watch it. Binge watch all the episodes (don't skip the recap though). You will love it. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is great. Tony Shalhoub is sublime. It needs to go on!

viper-57726 What a surprise this was! Initially slow to get going but after 2 episodes I had to binge the rest. Invasion of the body snatchers style plot, good to see a low key alien invasion and against the backdrop of a government in chaos makes it all the more refreshing. Good mix of politics and the actual invasion, worked so well. This show would work even if it focused on just the politics or the aliens since the writing is excellent and the whole cast are great to watch with interesting back stories and such.Really hoping to see more of this, great having original shows such as BrainDead, even their 'previously on' section is awesome by doing it as a little song that changes each time. Must watch for anyone intrigued by the title and general premise, can't see it disappointing.
