Beneath the Lies Audience Reviews

BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
Greenes Please don't spend money on this.
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Maureen Tumubwine This show is a great deal. I see women running away from men only to be antagonized by fellow women. I am talking about Ali. Who is she? I myself fear her sight on screen. Those eyes my God! And how she says "I am gonna enjoy torturing you" in that voice. But, well, I miss her. I started getting chills in episode 6 when Tracy mentioned her. Again I got chills for nothing. I would love to see her at work again. Who will she torture first when she finally gets to work again? How I wish she could start with Shaban. Not that I hate Shaban, but because, well, Shaban seems so confident and I would love his confidence broken down a tiny bit.
Jaey Praise I luv Tracy Kintu played by 'Diana Deedan Muyira' (qv). I don't really know her story yet considering I have just watched 3 episodes, but I think she's gonna be the best biatchi this show will have. Sorry Deedan, I don't mean bad, I know u're sweet, I'm a woman & would hate the word too, but I mean yo character seems gud at being bad. 'Natasha Sinayobye' (qv) got us an award in 'Bala Bala Sese' (qv) & so 4 yo role is nice, get us another award. Oh My God, there is Hellen Mutungi, if she was a xter on 'Desperate Housewives' (qv), her portrayer 'Hellen Lukoma' (qv) w'd take home the trophy. But I am not so happy with 'Flavia Tumusiime'(qv)'s role yet. Her xter Kamali is the lead role but she seems to be trampled on by almost everyone on the show except Abe (Gaetano) who falls for her hooker charms (sorry sis). The show is still young, I guest I wil get a chance to see Kamali at her most rebellious, stubborn side just like from Episode 1. I am a woman who loves strong women. Biceps ups Kamali. I loved Mr. Paul (my Omara). I think I fell in love with him for how he protected Keitesi (Natasha)Kisses, mwaa Mr. Paul. Overall its a great show showing the mistreatment of women, prostitution, child trafficking,
Nagaba Bulyn Anyango This is a great show. I love it. But there is one thing I am noticing, that it is a story heavily based on Tyler Perry's The Haves & The Have Nots. Starting from season episode one, we see Kamali introducing herself to Abe as Candy, the exact same line plus others used by Candice Young on The Haves & The Have Nots. The whole agency/prostitute staff plus all lawyering and judging the show up with is in the style of The Haves & The Have Nots. I would have loved an original show. Yes, the show tells of crimes eating up Kampala but with borrowed lines. The production is great. Such great picture quality for a Ugandan production. I am proud of my home. Still expecting greater things though.
andybelfore Great writing, casting and vision. This is so far the best production coming from Uganda. I think it all comes down from the creator Ms Nana Kagga who's had a Hollywood experience. This is what Uganda has been waiting for to start competing in the international market. Looking at the IMDb ratings of 9.5, this is a great thing for a TV show from a country where the film/TV industry almost never exists. I am seeing this show running mountains. However, I don't think the localest Ugandan would wanna watch it. They are used to the poorest comedy drama, unscripted and not entertaining the high class. Beneath the Lies is a show for a different class, a class that likes to watch Hollywood TV shows/movies, not even the Nollywood ones. For sure people who follow Gaetano Kaggwa, Natasha Sinayobye, Flavia Tumusiime can never be the ones you will find watching a movie translated in Luganda, lol.
