Bear Grylls: Breaking Point Audience Reviews

Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
Stoutor It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
Jakoba True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
gridoon2018 In each of "Breaking Point"'s six episodes, Bear Grylls takes two ordinary people out to the wilderness for three days, and exposes them to their worst fears (from heights to...trees!) so that they can first confront and then conquer them. The one fear I most identified with is the fear of spiders - better not tell Bear though, or he'll have nine big Mexican tarantulas crawling on my naked chest! The show is sometimes uncomfortable to watch, but you must remember that a) these people asked to be there, nobody forced them to go, and b) there is not one guest who does not come out of this experience in a better, freer place than where he was before. It's quite cathartic, and sometimes even moving. And of course the show shares the same first-rate technical credentials with Bear's more famous "Man Vs. Wild". Recommended if you're a fan. *** out of 4.
davelynch16 Based on the first episode. I am pretty disturbed by what I am watching. I loved the Man vs Wild but this series is a little different. 2 men trying to conquer their biggest fears, water. What I find disturbing is that these people have lost family members in water. One from drowning another in a Tsunami. They speak frankly about their fears and inner demons about the horrific tragedies, particularly the man who lost his son to drowning. I feel a little dirty watching this and the producers should be ashamed for trying and failing to make entertainment from such tragedy. I can't imagine this series will get good. And I see it only lasted one series. I will stop watching this horrible show now after one episode. Avoid it, unless you want to feel like a peeping tom voyeur.
