It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.

All that we are seeing on the screen is happening with real people, real action sequences in the background, forcing the eye to watch as if we were there.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

RELEASED IN 2011 and directed by Frank Coraci, "Zookeeper" is a dramedy/fantasy/romance starring Kevin James as a (you guessed it) zookeeper in Boston who enlists the aid of the zoo's animals in his attempt to win the affections of model Stephanie (Leslie Bibb) or, maybe, fellow zoo-worker Kate (Rosario Dawson). This amusing and heartwarming movie succeeds where "Doctor Dolittle" (1998) barely gets by. It's also more relevant to adults in light of the romantic shenanigans, albeit still family friendly. Everything hinges on whether or not the movie can pull off the animals as (talking) characters while keeping you invested in the drama. And it does, incredibly. I actually found myself caring about one of the animals in particular. As always, James makes for a likable every-guy protagonist. And Dawson is winsome. THE FILM RUNS 1 hour, 42 minutes and was shot in Franklin Park Zoo & Boston, Massachusetts, as well as Central Park, Manhattan (for the bike race). WRITERS: Jay Scherick, David Ronn, Kevin James, etc.GRADE: B+/A-

A group of zoo animals decide to break their code of silence in order to help their lovable zoo keeper find love -- without opting to leave his current job for something more illustrious. To be honest i've always enjoyed Kevin James movies and this one is no exception, there's enough laughs and some great mix of adventure and drama within this film and having some well known actors like Stallone and Nolte voicing some of the animals makes the movie even better. It's not a film for everyone but some viewers will like it. (8.5/10)

"The Zookeeper" is hardly anything else than copy of "Dr.Dollittle". The plot is unimaginative. The animals aren't either interesting or cute. The story is predictable and the jokes are lame. The acting isn't anything special. Kevin James has always been a poor man's John Candy, at least for me. There is impressive supporting voice cast here : Sylvester Stallone , Nick Nolte , Cher , Adam Sandler , Judd Apatow and Jon Favreau . They did OK , but that's it.The only reason I saw this lame comedy was because Sylvester Stallone in it. I'm on a mission to watch every movie he made (with the exception of the infamous porn movie "Party at Kitty and Stud"). I'm always wondering why someone with an obvious sense of humor like Sly keeps appearing in bad comedies like this one. I guess I will never know. I give it 1/10.

Watching this monstrosity of a movie i actually felt dumber. I had seen the trailers prior to watching the film, and i admit i went in with low expectations. But I left extremely disappointed. The story line seemed to have died about 5 minutes into the film, From what i assume this movie is intended for and age group of 3-6 years of age. The unfortunate thing is that even for someone of that age there is literally no humor in the entire film. It's like if you made a movie all about fart jokes, and keep it going for and hour and thirty minutes. Why was this movie necessary, The characters are forgettable, the storyline is flat, all aspects considered the movie is plain god awful.
