Your Highness Audience Reviews

Alicia I love this movie so much
Solemplex To me, this movie is perfection.
Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Merolliv I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.
WubsTheFadger Short and Simple Review by WubsTheFadgerThe story is stupid but still funny. The plot is easy to follow but is also paper thin. Most of the jokes are actually funny and the wedding scene where James and Zoey sing is hilarious. The runtime is way too long and the pacing is very slow in the beginning. Also the editing is very wacky. For example, Natalie Portman's character is seen in the water in one scene and then she is seen on dry land in the very next scene not even wet.The CGI is good. There are a couple of instances of bad CGI, but most of it is good. The acting is good as well. James Franco plays a likeable and brave prince. Danny McBride plays a stuck-up, jealous brother. Natalie Portman is a badass huntress looking for revenge. The only bad thing about the acting is the terrible English accents by James, Danny, and Zoey.Pros: Funny jokes, good acting, good CGI, Zoey and James' singing scene, and James Franco's performanceCons: Some bad CGI, very stupid story, paper thin plot, terrible English accents, overlong runtime, and slow pacingOverall Rating: 6.0
Prismark10 I came to this film with low expectations and what can I say, I chuckled a few times and rather enjoyed this stoner/slacker modernist take of a medieval adventure.Danny McBride (Thadeous) and James Franco (Fabious) are two princes on a dangerous mission to save their land and rescue Fabious's fiancée Zooey Deschanel (Belladonna.)Older brother Fabious has always been valiant. Thadeous prefers booze, weed and easy maidens. When it comes to combat he tends to stay back. Joined by Natalie Portman (Isabel) a warrior with her own agenda they go on a journey where they meet evil wizards, vanquish terrifying creatures and treacherous knights. This is a silly low brow film with a penchant for a lot of penis jokes and other smutty type of humour. Its not quite Monty Python. Everyone speaks in cod English accents and seem to enjoy themselves including Portman who had recently won a Best Actress Oscar when she made this film. Franco comes across as a bit vacant though. The humour is hit and miss but there is nothing wrong with some hearty, naughty silliness.
Valer B. Watching the trailer made me think this movie would be a good choice to watch with my kids on a weekend evening. Which turned out was not the right conclusion. There are many explicit sex related scenes and language. I believe IMDb should add an extra warning for fantasy movies like this one - which are normally children-friendly - that it's not to be watched with children, even if it's a tale.It was okay for me, but my kids were the fist to mention the bad language and sexual connotations, which made me feel really uncomfortable. The movie would have been a cool one even without those moments, and the audience would have been a lot bigger. I would have given to it a higher vote in that case.
TheMovieSnob247 You know I really don't get critics sometimes. They all pretty much crapped all over this movie and I'm not sure why. I mean, yes, it's a stupid stoner comedy set in Medieval Times. What were they expecting? King Arthur? Robin Hood? Game of Thrones? I mean really? The trailer pretty much told you exactly what to expect. And if you're familiar with Danny's Kenny Powers from Eastbound and Down, NOTHING you saw in this film should've surprised you. As far as I'm concerned, this was entertaining and it delivered exactly what was expected: dumb laughs. So it's simple. Turn off your brain. Don't expect Robin Hood. Don't take any of it seriously. And you will be entertained and laugh hysterically. I found this much more enjoyable than A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas (which for some reason got great reviews, it's the exact same dumb humour!). Danny McBride and James Franco are hilarious and they make this a fun experience. Is this a good movie? No. Will it make any "Best of the Year" lists? No. Will you laugh your ass off at the sheer stupidity and ridiculousness of it? Hell's yes. Sometimes you need a dumb laugh and Your Highness is absolutely the ticket. Enjoy!Enjoyed my review?
