WWE Extreme Rules 2012 Audience Reviews

TrueJoshNight Truly Dreadful Film
Jeanskynebu the audience applauded
Ghoulumbe Better than most people think
Bumpy Chip It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Owen Ogletree I had the pleasure of watching this event live back in 2012. It was an awesome show. The Chicago crowd and atmosphere is amazing as always. The undercard was solid and the main event matches really delivered.Falls Count Anywhere Match: Randy Orton vs. Kane - I thought this was a very good way to start the show. Like most FCA matches, it was fun and all over the place, and they did some really good near-falls toward the end. Randy Orton wins with an RKO on a steel chair. RATING: ***1/4Brodus Clay vs. Dolph Ziggler - Boring match. Thankfully, it didn't last too long. Brodus Clay wins. RATING: *1/2Tables Match for the Intercontinental Championship: The Big Show (c) vs. Cody Rhodes - It was a short match, but it was pretty good while it lasted. It had the same big man/little man dynamic they used in their WrestleMania match. Cody surprisingly wins back his title. RATING: **3/42-Out-Of-3 Falls Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Sheamus (c) vs. Daniel Bryan - This was a great technical match that excellently showcased both men. This is what their WrestleMania match should have been. They prove to have stellar chemistry. This is perhaps Daniel Bryan's breakout match. Winner of the match 2-1 and still World Heavyweight Champion: Sheamus. RATING: ****1/4Handicap Match: Ryback vs. 2 Jobbers - Epic squash. Next. RATING: N/A Chicago Street Fight for the WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho - This was even better than their WrestleMania encounter. The crazy stunts and use of weapons was very exciting, and the emotion in this match feels so real. Chicago was, of course, very hot for CM Punk. An amazing ending to an amazing rivalry. CM Punk retains with a catapult to exposed turnbuckle followed by a GTS. RATING: ****1/2 Extreme Rules Match: John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar - What an intense, bloody, brutal brawl this was! His first match since his return, Brock Lesnar was an absolute beast, suplexing John Cena all over the place. The match perfectly told the story of Cena being the underdog and trying to find a way to outsmart him. The finish was brilliant. John Cena wins with a chain to the skull followed by an Attitude Adjustment on the steel steps. RATING: ****1/2This is one of the very best Pay-Per-Views of the 2010's. This outdid that year's WrestleMania. The match quality was very high and the hot crowd is just another good thing. Get this show now.RATING: A
Kevan Thomas 1. Falls Count Anywhere Match - Kane vs. Randy Orton Despite the stipulation, I didn't enjoy this match as much as their Wrestlemania encounter. But the match was pretty entertaining with the action going backstage. It also had a pretty good finish. Not a bad opener. 6/102. Dolph Ziggler vs. Brodus Clay I never really enjoyed Clay's matches, but Ziggler put up a good fight and made this almost watchable. I would still skip this one. 4/103. Tables Match for the Intercontinental Championship - The Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes The action was pretty decent, but the match was ruined by an abrupt and pretty lame ending. The match is short enough to be worth a watch though. 5/104. 2 out of 3 Falls Match for the World Heavyweight Championship - Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan These two were finally given a decent amount of time to have a great match-up. So much better than their 18 second Wrestlemania match in every way possible. These two showed that they are main event worthy superstars. Bryan deserves another title run and this match shows why. 9/105. Ryback vs. Two Jobbers Squash match in between two great title matches. Skip. 1/106. Chicago Street Fight for the WWE Championship - CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho The third Wrestlemania rematch on the card, and in my opinion the best one. Very different style match than their previous encounter, but it was hard hitting and dramatic. Either man could have won this match, as the worked well together and put on an awesome match. 9/107. Divas Champinship - Nikki vs. Layla Nothing special here. Skip. 1/108. Extreme Rules Match - Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena Wow! Lesnar absolutely destroyed Cena, busting him open with nasty elbows early on. This was a very different main event than I'm used to seeing. It was very violent and somewhat slow paced, but everything worked. I was disappointed by the ending, as it was the typical Cena win out of no where. But good main event. 8/10Extreme Rules was a good pay per view overall, with a couple of duds but the two championship matches and the main event make the DVD worth the money.
