Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! Audience Reviews

Micitype Pretty Good
Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Voxitype Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
Kirandeep Yoder The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.
adonis98-743-186503 A small-town girl wins a date with a male celebrity through a contest. When the date goes better than expected, a love triangle forms between the girl, the male celebrity, and the girl's best friend. Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! is a bit charming and the actors do try their best (Josh Duhamel, Kate Bosworth and Topher Grace) unfortunately i think the film was missing the much more romantic part that it needed and it lacked on that scale also some of the dialogue was a bit cheesy as a whole. Not a terrible movie of course just a very disappointing and below average romantic comedy that could have been way better plus Bosworth's character at times was a bit too much "smart". (5/10)
Python Hyena Win a Date With Tad Hamilton (2004): Dir: Robert Luketic / Cast: Topher Grace, Josh Duhamel, Kate Bosworth, Nathan Lane, Gary Cole: Funny romantic comedy about expectations and our perception upon meeting people. Josh Duhamel plays heart throb Tad Hamilton who gains unfavourable tabloid exposure when caught drunk driving. His agents decide to do a contest where the winner receives a date with Tad. Kate Bosworth is surprised and delighted to win and has Tad is won over with her wholesomeness. She works at a supermarket where her manager, played by Topher Grace who has a crush on her. After the date Tad decides to move to her town but Grace is cautious of the relationship that spawns. Great concept that has an ending that cleverly ties in to its beginning. This counters its formula structure. Directed by Robert Luketic who previously made Legally Blonde but despite the success of that film, he hits stronger comedic notes with this romantic comedy. Grace brings superb comic touches to the jealous manager in a predictable role yet one viewers may relate too. Bosworth and Duhamel are both solid as two people from opposites ends who have totally different expectations. Nathan Lane and Gary Cole are both talented actors but they are unfortunately underwritten. Themes addresses that a date with fame is a fantasy with no focus on reality. Score: 8 ½ / 10
SnoopyStyle Rosalee Futch (Kate Bosworth), Pete Monash (Topher Grace), and Cathy Feely (Ginnifer Goodwin) are best friends and co-workers at the local Piggly Wiggly. Pete secretly pines for Rosalee, and Cathy's the ugly best friend. Tad Hamilton (Josh Duhamel) is a big movie star with a shallow life. To rehab his image, they create a contest to win a date with Tad Hamilton.Kate Bosworth is way too hot at the start. They've got to ugly her up and do a big makeover when she gets to Hollywood. And the truth is the dates with Tad Hamilton aren't the most compelling watch. Bosworth and Duhamel are really really pretty people. They are fine actors but they're completely overshadowed by the much more funny Topher Grace. The movie shines with Topher. The best scene comes when Toper and Duhamel have a shirt off. He's the only truly funny thing about this movie. Sean Hayes and Nathan Lane are annoying little cartoons as Tad Hamilton's people. Ginnifer Goodwin does a few funny lines but she doesn't have enough to do. They need to cut short the dates, and invest the time with the 4 main characters together.
svetiev_b One thing that makes this movie different than all the others of this genre is the fact that it does not have a negative character and even the stereotype, movie star Ted Hamilton's character is driven by morally and ethically righteous motives. So the main plot of this movie (as unbelievable as it may sound) revolves around the characters struggle with their self and they strive to overcome their own boundaries and limitations. As I said in the beginning there is no bad guy in this movie. Everybody does the right and noble thing at their given time. Now all this philosophy aside, this is a nice easy going movie with overly idealized moral values, which is kind of rare now a days and makes it quite refreshing and unexpected.
