Griff Lees Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

gghutson1 I saw this movie years ago when it first appeared on TV and I completely fell in love with Armand. His eyes are mesmerizing. I love movies based on real events. The actors made me really believe in the agony and heart-rendering pain the real people went through to bring Leona back to the valuable life she was meant to live. I felt totally involved in the whole facial reconstruction process, which I thought was absolutely amazing--especially the ideas the surgeon and Leona came up with to solve each reconstruction problem. This is the kind of romance I enjoy--the kind without sex scenes. This was real acting. We have a friend who comes over every other Saturday to watch movies with us. We will definitely order this one because I know my friends have never seen it.

teamparent913 I viewed this film on Lifetime TV in 1984 and was very moved by the content. It made me stop and think about my own strength and how I would handle this same situation. I don't understand why it has never been aired again since that time. I always watch lifetime with the hope of seeing this movie. If anyone every hears of it being aired again on lifetime or any other station, or it being available for purchase on DVD, PLEASE email me to let me know. I would love to have my teenage daughters see this movie. It is a real life lesson in what the meaning of TRUE LOVE means. It teaches you that beauty is only skin deep and that at any time our lives can change in a split second.

prfrmr I actually cried through much of the climactic drama of this movie.Funny thing is, I looked EVERYWHERE for this title and always came up with dead ends, probably because I thought it was a mid-90's TV film, and it's actually from 1984. No wonder.Anyway... Armande Assante --and granted he's a truly talented, very sexy multi-level actor-- TRULY deserves the most high appraisal for his tasty performance as the chief surgeon. He absolutely made my mouth water (for lack of a better word) here. And Glynnis O'Connor is magnificent in the portrayal of Leola May Harmon. This is another TRUE STORY movie that really reaches to the guts of television drama.When I first caught this on TV back in the mid-90's, I assumed it was a recent film. I did not realize it was actually an 80's TV movie--not that that's any relevance here. And for some odd reason I thought the title role of Leola May was portrayed brilliantly by actress Amy Madigan. Oops.LIke I said....I saw this film only once, 12 years ago (1994). But...oh the irony....the drama stuck with me ever since. And when I finally got around years later now, looking up Assante's name on the Internet----what a surprising gas to find THIS MOVIE title listed under his name! Whooo----I was excited! I hope this film will be released on DVD someday. It is DEFINITELY WELL WORTH the cost.

Ruth My sister and I saw this movie years ago and LOVED it! We enjoy a before-and-after story, and this movie depicts this theme beautifully. It covers the horror of a car crash, the heartbreak of being divorced for shallow reasons, the medical community at its best, and a love story with a happy ending.I want to own this movie.
