Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

williwaw Ann Margret gives one of the finest performances of her career which is noted for fine work. Ann Margaret rocked to stardom when she sang Bachelor In Paradise as a nominated song at the Academy Awards to riotous reception. Then followed multiple contracts at 20th, MGM, Universal and Columbia where she was brilliant in Bye Bye Birdie. One of her films the fine Kitten With A Whip at Universal was used as a catch phrase by critics and Ann Margret was labeled a sexy actress. Along came Carnal Knowledge and Tommy both netting Ann Margret Oscar Nominations. This TV film followed and after hear searing performance Ann Margret was universally praised as an Actress of the first rank. This film is brilliantly done with splendid support by Frederic Forrest among others but it is Ann Margret's all the way. Nomnninated for an Emmy, Ann lost to Barbara Stanwyck for Thorn Birds and the great Stanwyck noted in her speech that Ann Margaret gave not only the best performance of the year but one of the greatest of all time. High praise from one of the finest actresses in Hollywood History to another great actress, Ms. Ann Margret

ileneamy This movie is based on the true story of Iowa housewife Lucille Fray, who got breast cancer after the birth of her 10th child. Realizing that the state would take the children away from her ineffectual, alcoholic husband, she devoted the last year of her life traveling around the state to find new homes for each of the children. A terrific script - which still holds up 20 years after it was first made. The grown children, many of whom had not seen each other since their mother died in the late 50's, were reunited on "That's Incredible," prior to the film's airing in 1983. Barbara Stanwyck won the Emmy for best actress in a TV movie or mini-series, but during her acceptance speech, she went out of her way to single Ann-Margret out for her moving performance.

Recruitu2 Ann-Margret did the best job she has ever done in her history of film making. I felt as if she WAS Mrs. Frey. There might be one or two films of Ann-Margret's I have not seen since her film debut in "Pocket full of Miracles" with Betty Davis in 1961. I feel she has been totally under-rated in the industry. Though she was nominated for an Emmy Award for this role in "Who Will Love My Children," she was overlooked. Like she was nominated for an Academy Award for her roles in "Carnal Knowledge" and "Tommy," she was snubbed. Over all, I think everyone did a superb acting job including all the children in "Who Will Love My Children." Yes, it is a sad movie (as true stories can be), but well worth the time. Thank you.

weecraigiefowler This is not a GREAT movie as tho the cast (especially the kids) admirably help to carry along this very sad yet contrived plot it is filled with cliché upon cliché. Poor family in 50's mid America, dying mother, alcoholic father, 10 children (1 of whom has epilepsy) and an awful decision to be made. Its very easy to watch and some of the kids performances are moving without being sickly or naff. And little Frank and Warrnen steal the show for me with the last scene leaving me bawling no matter how many times I see it. A great rainy afternoon movie i recommend to all. Only those with the hardest of hearts could fail to be moved by it. Not on a par to Sophies Choice but a good TV movie equivalent!!!
