Challenges of impending parenthood turn the lives of five couples upside down. Two celebrities are unprepared for the surprise demands of pregnancy; hormones wreak havoc on a baby-crazy author, while her husband tries not to be outdone by his father, who's expecting twins with his young trophy wife; a photographer's husband isn't sure about his wife's adoption plans; a one-time hook-up results in a surprise pregnancy for rival food-truck owners.

What to Expect When You're Expecting Audience Reviews

Claysaba Excellent, Without a doubt!!
ShangLuda Admirable film.
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Lola A The movie tries to capture the different experiences that couples go through as they are expecting a child. However, I found that none of the experiences was deep enough, it was only represented in a shallow manner. Especially the couple that looses the child. There is a lot more emotion with that then the movie shows. I just felt that because the movie tried to show so many couples non of them was deep enough that the audience could relate or sympathise or even feel with them. The real-life link: I am not sure how a pregnancy is experienced so I might not be able to say if the experience was captured appropriately. But I assume that physical pain (Elizabeth Banks) and fear (Jennifer Lopez) are part of it and I think these two cases showed it pretty well. Even the woman that seems that has a magical pregnancy (Brooklyn Decker) could be found in real life. These three cases were armful. What was not so armful and seemed as totally unnecessary was Cameron Diaz scenario. I did not get what kind of pregnancy she was supposed to represent. While Anna Kendrick's role also showed a different kind of experience I think it was just not rightfully shown. Character analysis: Jules. She came across as the controlling, vain celebrity that had to always get with her way and did not care about the opinion of her partner at all. Evan instead of standing up for himself goes to her and does exactly what she says and even asks to marry him. I just think this is realistic. While of course there are men that would do the same, the long term prospects of that relationship would not be so good. And who knows if there was a second part than maybe this couple would be separated. Marco and Rosie. Rosie pushes Marco away. Marco tries to make it happen despite it but he does not try hard enough. (hello those who say when a guy wants you he will make it happen). In the end they get together due to meeting in the hospital (now hello fate). While this is a movie and does not prove that it is exactly what happens in relationships, I find it quite realistic. The movie also does a great job in linking the characters with one another without them being all connected. Not too much but just enough. However, the movie is quite slow, the story line is predictable and is not so interesting.
Shopaholic35 I genuinely enjoyed What to Expect When You're Expecting and found it to be quite hilarious. The jokes were well timed and it seemed to be outrageously truthful in places and bullsh!t in others. They tried to depict multiple experiences with pregnancy from the very difficult to the "oh it was a breeze". Nobody's perfect yet everyone feels the need to have the perfect experience.I only wish they had explored each character in more detail. They all seemed very shallow below the surface as there were too many individual story lines. You didn't get to see the whole journey for anyone so it left me wanting more.By far the best part of the whole movie was seeing the dad's group hang out. Why does this not happen more often in real life. It's not only a brilliant support system but I'm sure it would be hilarious. Chris Rock stole the scenes for me. The man knows how to be funny.I will definitely give this one a second viewing and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an inappropriate laugh.
sexycurls7 Good thing I Like Cheesy Chick-flicks....but if your are not a chick-flick person DO NOT WATCH THIS!!!....But on the other hand if you do...this movie is cute, funny and has many great actors and actresses that i really like...The Dude Group is Hilarious...If you have Kids you will relate to many of the things that happens in here...It's all about Baby Delivery and everything that come's with it....OBVIOUSLY the Title says it all.For the Moms... this movie is funny..I guarantee you will relate to at least one couple in this film.for mom's to be... This movie is nice to watch and wont traumatize you in anyway.BTW...Joe Manganiello is shirtless in many of the scenes in this film...YAY!!!
elliecopter24 It's an alright film, I mean at some parts it's fairly funny, due to Rebel Wilson being in it, it was quite unpredictable also. However the whole film has no storyline at all, it wasn't interesting, they've spent so much money on having top actresses such as Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz, but the film in all is just not good. Also I just do not understand why this film is under the 'comedy' genre? I didn't see any comedy in it? It's more like a chick flick.. It was slightly confusing how the whole film was based on about 5/6 couples who don't really seem to have any connection what-so-ever. Wouldn't recommend this film.
