WCW Great American Bash '90: New Revolution Audience Reviews

Artivels Undescribable Perfection
HeadlinesExotic Boring
BallWubba Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.
Kamila Bell This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
callanvass Live from Baltimore, MDAttendance: 14,000Your commentators are Jim Ross & Bob CaudleBrian Pillman Vs Buddy LandelPillman wins with a flying crossbody from the top. This opener wasn't very exciting. It dragged at times with Landel's offense. When Pillman was in control, it picked up a bit. *1/2 out of 5The Iron Sheik Vs Mike RotundaRotunda wins with a backslide. This was pretty ugly to watch with an overweight, over the hill wrestler. There wasn't much Rotunda could do in this match because The Iron Sheik couldn't move very well.3/4* out of 5Dutch Mantel Vs Doug FurnasFurnas wins with a belly to belly suplex. God, this was boring! It seemed to go on forever. This match had way too many rest holds and too much stalling. We're not off to a good start.*1/4 out of 5Harley Race Vs Tommy RichHarley Race wins. Well, color me surprised! I thought this was going to be much worse than it actually was. It ended up being somewhat of an above average match. I have to give Harley Race credit.**1/4 out of 5United States Tag Team ChampionshipThe Midnight Express (C) (W/Jim Cornette) Vs The Southern BoysThe Midnight Express retain the titles. This is a really good match that was often very exciting. There were times it did get a little repetitive. It annoyed me when one of The Southern Boys kept getting knocked to the floor. Other than that, this was excellent.***1/2 out of 5Big Van Vader Vs Tom ZenkVader squashes Zenk. This was a dominant WCW debut for Vader. It did what it set out to do very well and that's establish Vader as a monster. ½* out of 5The Steiner Brothers Vs The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin)The Steiner's win the match. This was decent stuff. I've said this before, but The Steiner's had the ability to make almost anything fun. This match is no different.**1/2 out of 5Arn Anderson, Sid Vicious & Barry Windham Vs Paul Orndorff, The Junkyard Dog & El GiganteOrndorff, JYD & El Gigante win by DQ. My expectations weren't sky- high or anything, but I expected this to be better than it was. It was pretty amusing to see a heel like Sid be way over with the crowd. *1/2 out of 5United States ChampionshipLex Luger (C) Vs 'Mean' Mark Callous (W/Paul E. Dangerously)Mark is The Undertaker, managed by Paul Heyman here. Luger wins with a running clothesline. This is a forgettable match between these two. It had action, but most of it was rather bland and unexciting.*3/4 out of 5Tag Team ChampionshipDoom (C) (W/Teddy Long) Vs The Rock 'n' Roll ExpressDoom retains the titles. Doom had too much offense in this match. As a result, the pace was uneven and the match turned out to be average. Just a total mismatch.** out of 5World Heavyweight ChampionshipRic Flair (C) Vs StingSting wins the title by countering the Figure Four with an inside cradle. I consider this to be one of WCW's best moments. The match was fantastic, the atmosphere was electric, and the crowd popped huge for Sting's title win. Flair and Sting create magic together. It's as simple as that. **** out of 5Well, because of Sting's title win and the historical importance, I'm gonna give this a 6/10. I'm not sure it really deserves it, but it does have some memorable moments. I just wish there wasn't so much crappy filler.6/10
