Info

The documentary exposes the ways in which America's foreign policy agenda in the Middle East drives the U.S. media's portrayals of Arabs and Muslims. The film lays bare the truths behind taboo subjects that are conspicuously avoided, or merely treated as sound bites, by the mainstream American media: "Why do they hate us?" "Why do we hate them?" What were the events that led to the 9/11 attacks? What are the politics behind the U.S.-Israeli relationship? Why is there a robust debate about these subjects in Europe, the Arab World and in Israel itself, but not in the U.S.? Valentino's Ghost provides a fresh inquiry which challenges the media's daily barrage of rhetoric and misinformation about our complex and vital relationship with this part of the world

Valentino's Ghost Audience Reviews

Clevercell Very disappointing...
MamaGravity good back-story, and good acting
Voxitype Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
cstotlar-1 This documentary definitely has an agenda and it's a valuable one too, stated intelligently and succinctly. The Arab World - or The Islamic World - has been unfairly treated by the media in the U.S. in just about every way humanly possible and this unfair treatment is vicious much more often than not. I've noticed this for years and I've also noticed that no-one has made any attempt to correct it - or had the courage to correct it. Anybody who has taken the time to read the Koran knows that the Islamic faith includes not only Judaism but Christianity as well. And everyone who has read about jihad knows that it's not what the press represents at all. Judging the Islamic World (or the so-called Islamic World) by extremists is rather like judging Christianity by, say, the Ku Klux Klan. We would loudly deny any such comparison and take steps to correct it immediately, and yet the Islams are given no such opportunity at all. The press is in on much of this, of course, because it sells - this demeaning of an entire culture. Hatred has become quite popular nowadays.Just see the film. It doesn't rant or rave. It simply uncovers truths and past truths that we would like to sweep under the nearest carpet. It's an amazingly informative and its gentle message is there for all to ponder. Bravo Mr. Singh.Curtis Stotlar
