I've enjoyed this movie for a long time. I saw it years ago and thought it has some terrifying suspense and gore, as well as, adventure. Definitely a buyer. I have watched it time & time again through the years and I still enjoy watching it!!!!

After a bus crashes in a rural area of Brazil, a group of tourists try to find their way back to their motel. The problem is, one of them throws a rock at a little boy to get his attention, and accidentally hits him, causing an uproar from the other neighbors.A random guy, Kiko, grabs a machete and leads the tourists through the thick jungles towards what he says is a house, and on the way the group ends up near a waterfall and underwater caves. While jumping down the waterfall, Kiko whacks his head on something and the group goes to the house, which isn't abandoned but has no electricity, and is very strange looking. There are surveillance cameras, dogs locked up in cages, bottles of medicine and canned food, and beds. They go to sleep, planning to get away in the morning. In the middle of the night they hear a helicopter, and a group of doctors randomly show up, locking up the tourists but keeping one of the men and women with them. The woman has her liver and kidneys removed and the man watches, but is rescued by the other tourists after they escape. Will they get away alive, or will they be caught and dragged back? This film has a number of unrealistic scenarios, and is more comedic than scary. It was like a bad version of Hostle, and uses the whole "oh my god, foreigners are scary!" plot. What could be worse than being cut open and having your internal organs removed while you're still alive? Well, the woman in this film having her organs removed is awake while it happens, she doesn't scream or cry or anything, nor does the man watching the whole thing. It looks disturbing enough, but the actors don't portray it as such. In fact, the entire cast was full of terrible actors, and as usual in these kinds of movies, the woman who gets away is a brunette wearing a tank top. For once they could make it somewhat different. The soundtrack was boring, the plot was boring, the acting was boring... just one incredibly boring movie.

I was clenching my teeth and turning away from the screen in the final scene because the imminent drowning syndrome I was feeling for the characters was all too real. The Director had me on the edge of my seat ! Brilliant movie that I highly recommend unless you get squeamish because a lot of the scenes are intense. There are several comedic moments in this film too.Great Cast...Josh Duhamel plays a different character than his normal roles and he is believable. You will have second thoughts about wanting to go to Brazil on a spring break. The scenery is incredible. The film's first scene is an extremely intense event so be prepared.
