Slow pace in the most part of the movie.

It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

The Pink Panther takes on the French-Canadian brothers Jules and Jacques, who is out in the forest to trap animals for their fur trading company. So, the Pink Panther takes on a superhero role of sorts and makes sure he prevents that from happening, outsmarting and outwitting Jules and Jacques on a number of occasions by releasing his snapping turtle friends on them.Though not a terribly funny cartoon short, it's great seeing the Pink Panther win out and get the upper hand, and nice to see him revered by the animals of the forest. A nice cartoon where the Pink Panther is the total protagonist and hero.Grade B+

Trail of the Lonesome Pink(awesome title) is one of those Pink Panther cartoons that is not among the best/classics but not among the worst either. If anything it's a solid and entertaining cartoon. The story doesn't hold that many surprises outside of the gags, if you are familiar with the concept of Pinky getting revenge after being wronged in some way it's pretty much the same here. I also have to agree about the laugh track, while it's not usually a problem elsewhere it's distracting here and wasn't needed. The animation is very good however, the colours are vibrant and the drawing is simple but never scrappy or sparse. The music is as slinky and jazzy as ever in a way that doesn't dull the pace at all, while the theme tune is still catchy classic status, it's amazing at how a theme tune heard so many times still doesn't annoy. The sight gags here are inventive and assuredly timed with not a weak one really to speak of, the second half with Pinky in his "Pink Avenger" guise faring much better than the first. The on-screen translations further add to the fun. The two French-Canadians are fun characters and serve as good foils for Pinky, who makes even more of an impression(fitting as he is the title character), even though he's the vengeful character he is still characteristically likable and cool. All in all, not quite award-worthy but very entertaining and solid stuff, yes even with the annoying laugh track. 7/10 Bethany Cox

Now we're out in the woods in the days of fur trappers who travel by canoe. These particular two are named "Jacques and Jules," obviously Frenchmen. At one end of the lake they get out and set up their traps. They are hoping to get anything from bears to beavers to foxes to even squirrels. The Pink Panther is out in the woods, too, just for a nice picnic. While he begins dining, his tail gets caught in one of the traps. He frees it, but now has thoughts of transforming into "The Pink Avenger" against those two trappersPretending to be a pied piper, he leads a group of snapping turtles to the log cabin of the fur traders, and the revenge is on! I liked the comic-book type translations of the Frenchmen, Armand, their bloodhound, and the nice colors in this animated short.Warning: this is another PP cartoon with the ludicrous laugh track, telling us when to laugh. (Yeah, right.) Since there weren't many sound effects in here, you could play this with the sound off and not be annoyed by those idiots laughing at every little thing.
