It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
Hayden Kane
There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.

Hands down one of the most Original, Unique and enjoyable films I've ever seen. To take a harsh gritty story about greed, The politics of war and the deaths of woman and children and combine both the harshness with the right blend of comedy was genius and it was all played out on screen perfectly. The story was superb and you truly didn't know where it was going or what would happen next, Combine that with the fusion of sad, funny and awe moments and this is surely one of the most rare films you will ever see. Written, Acted, directed and edited superbly, A must watch for all film enthusiasts looking for a truly captivating, thoroughly enjoyable and memorable film.

A friend of mine advised me to watch this movie, and didn't tell me anything about the movie. I took a leap of faith if you will.I am a huge action/comedy movie fan. Though after 45 min. of the movie I decided to do some research to find out whether this is a serious movie or a complete joke (I didn't even bother pausing the movie, it is playing at the background as I type). When researching I found out that it was an action/comedy movie, which was quite surprising for me. To my opinion this movie is so lame, and the storyline so uninteresting. I do not advice anyone to watch this movie who has at least a little bit of an developed movie taste. I honestly cannot believe George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg agreed to play in this movie. Of course when I recognised Ice Cube, I should've known.Btw, to make my advice relative. I'm not that picky, I even liked the movie "dude, where is my car" which is completely dumb but hilarious for it.If there is even a single person reading this review, and also happens to think "sh*it, what SHOULD I watch then?". Your answer is Blue Streak. Thats one funny movie.

I'm writing this review with a huge disclaimer: I don't like war movies. They disgust me, they disturb me, they upset me. War movies typically exhibit the worst character in humans, generally it is the worst character in the "enemy" whereas the good guys--even if slightly flawed like this movie--are still saints compared to the bad guys. And the ones caught in between, the civilians, are just canon fodder. Either they are waiting to be slaughtered by their own or waiting to be saved by the magnanimous forces of good.Three Kings is not fully a war movie but it's darn close. I stopped the movie a third of the way through because I couldn't stomach it anymore and it's not like Ice Cube and Mark Wahlberg are worth watching. I heard enough racial epithets and saw enough berating and killing of the "others" to finally cry "Uncle!" I don't know, maybe this movie has a wonderful ending; I'm not sticking around to find out.

Set amid the confusion at the end of the Gulf war initially I found Three Kings to be really obnoxious, it just left a bad taste in my mouth with all these American soldiers acting like a-hole cowboys, using their guns as toys because they hadn't seen any combat action, shooting stuff up, being racist and running around like they own the country. Hard to find that humorous. I've come to realize though, that may have been the point here. This did get better for me as the movie went along and by the time GI's George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg and Ice Cube had sufficiently "disappeared" into the desert with their audacious plans of stealing the stolen Kuwaiti gold, experienced one ridiculous screw up after another so that now their mission is actually helping refugees (Cliff Curtis) and running for their lives. When the obnoxiousness took a back seat, I began to really enjoy this movie and admit to getting several laughs along the way.Ultimately this ended up being much deeper with a bigger message than I had counted on. 9/24/14
