The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

Ben Stiller , Jonah Hill & Vince Vaughn in one movie and I didn't even laugh for once and what made me more disappointed that Seth Rogen is one of the the writer of this, god forgive me, movie. So it is a complete crime.there is nothing wrong with there acting but there is so many wrong things in their script, not even an move or a word that made me laugh. So I am asking for a trial by combat to the creators of this disaster.the only good thing that I can see in this movie is nothing but the acting which is normal for such a crew.Even the aliens design is so traditional, if there is a little funny thing about them is their weak-point. The visual effects of the explosions was a total rubbish. My rating is 3/10 and those 3 points are only for the acting and the effort that done by the actors .

First time I've written on here, because I just watched the watch on the TV (didn't bother at the cinema because of the bad reviews) and it was good fun. A good fun movie, made me laugh out loud at least three times, had some good jokes. Nothing serious, a lads movie e.g. full of sex jokes which isn't normally my sort of thing, but this had some good ones, as well as some other good jokes/scenarios, didn't drag, a hell of a lot better than some higher rated comedies. I think it should be 6.8 out of 10 on IMDb, currently at 5.8. It's not a 7 movie for me, as that's for exception films, but this is sturdy entertainment and as I can't see how to rate something 6.8 I have rounded it up.

Every once in a while there is a movie that is so off the wall it works. It's usually a sleeper... not much ad run or much fanfare but it just has some "it" factor. The Watch was like that for me.Without a doubt the whole was greater than the sum of its parts. Stiller, Vaughn, Hill, and Ayoade???? Which one of these is not like the others? I like Stiller in some movies. He's usually the straight man as he was in this flick. Vaughn, I just don't like. He's way to annoying. Hill is pretty solid. I wouldn't rely on him to carry a movie, but he's sound. And Ayoade... who? The movie was very funny. I actually had no clue what it was about going in so it was all a surprise. Once I saw Vince Vaughn I started my internal countdown to when I would turn the movie off, but to my delight I never did.Who does a movie about a neighborhood watch organization and aliens? No one!! This movie was a huge risk and Costco sure got some run out of it. The movie was silly, it was spastic but it was funny and fun.

The Watch is a science fiction comedy. Ben Stiller is an active member of his local Ohio small town community and a senior manager of the Costco store. When the store's security guard is killed and the police show little interest in investigating the death he forms the neighbourhood watch. However, he only manages to recruit Vince Vaughn, a construction worker, Jonah Hill, who dreams of being a police officer and Richard Ayoade who is new in town. The watch use the group as an excuse to drink and have fun much to Stiller's annoyance. While driving on patrol, they discover a strange metallic orb that acts as a destructive weapon and think it might be of alien origin. They uncover an alien plot threatening the world. The film probably aimed to be the new Ghostbusters but is patchy and falls short. Although there is good repartee between the cast there is an uneasy mixture of gross humour and sci-fi. What should had been a clever action comedy aims for the low brow too often and the humour seems too lazy. Its also saddled with a lot of Costco product placement.
