Excellent but underrated film

The acting in this movie is really good.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny

This was a very good found footage horror movie. I just would have liked to get more of A reason or explanation behind what the " creature" was. In the end it was saying something to Natasha. So I would have liked a little bit more of an explanation. But all in all it was very good.

Well I got to say, The Tunnel did not come with anything new and it didn't arrive at that quick cash grab age right after Blairwitch. So it decided to be a movie on its own without trying too hard to copycat the genre but probably, possibly to stand on its own. My honest opinion is that it fell flat.Sure, it is not bad, but for this kind of movie, it just didn't deliver on any level whatsoever, no tension, scares, no real character development and certainly no real plot. It grabbed some elements on its way, it tried to create its own little world but it never succeeded on anything. If you watch movies like The Tunnel or Creep(2004) I think you'll find what is it that you are looking for. Either a slow burner psychological or a pretty intense little horror gem. Trust me you can do a lot better than The Tunnel. Cheers!

I welcomed this movie with a moderate dosis of skepticism, at first. It was an endless summer evening and my poisonous boredom required a powerful antidote. My fault was simply not being accustomed yet to the extreme form of realism of this exceptional horror sub-genre, and I believed a movie shot in a dark environment would only get me confused or, in the best hypothesis, a strong headache. I was completely wrong. I couldn't move my eyes from the screen for the whole time, completely hypnotised by the intensity of the plot and the (astonishing, considering I didn't know any of them before) performance of the actors. But the most important consequence of this movie is what is left after its end : questions. Deliciously unanswered questions. Watching this movie guarantees the arrival in your brain of mindblowing questions like : "could this happen in my town? Is something lurking in the dark beneath modern civilisation? At what cost do metropolitan areas expand? What do they leave behind, unseen and unexplored?" I felt pure excitement after "The Tunnel" ended. I hope someone else can experience this as well.

'The Tunnel' is a micro budget found footage horror film that holds it's own against most of the big budget horror films released in the last several years - and in many of those cases, surpasses them. The first quarter of the film has a nice slow pace, getting us familiar with the story and it's characters - which certainly isn't a bad thing. Although, I will admit, I was starting to get slightly impatient. The acting, for the most part, is solid all around. They say you get what you pay for, so in this case, they got more than expected. Once the group enters the tunnel, that's when the fun begins - the lighting is what it is, not the best, but after I realized they went for the less is more approach, the lighting or lack thereof is going to be a huge factor in the scares that lie ahead, and there's plenty. We never get a clear shot at the 'monster,' but they give us just enough to keep us interested. It's what you DON'T see, that really makes 'The Tunnel' a frightening fun ride. If you can find this gem, do not hesitate to give it a shot. Random Ramblings of a Madman: I hear there's a sequel planned, so hopefully they won't struggle for funds, the way they struggled here. It's fairly annoying seeing bad films like 'The Gallows' get the funds needed, while small films like 'The Tunnel' struggle to get released. Oh, and remember - less IS more. Do not ruin the sequel, please.
