That was an excellent one.

Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
Humaira Grant
It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

It is a very great pity that Dyer's exceptional series, _War_ is not available on videotape and DVD. Though the series (like the book that followed) is somewhat dated by its focus on the then possible Third World War between Russia and the United States, a great deal of Dyer's analysis and commentary remains universally applicable. The Profession of Arms is a distillation of the series and the "unique moral world," of the officer corps which--political verbiage aside-- shares the same ethos. In all, a valuable insight as to how officers think, and why.
