Absolutely the worst movie.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.

I saw this via Netflix, on the off-chance it could be good for a few cheap thrills. I'm now wondering why people do this, and whether the whole thing is some sort of satire of the paranormal and of horror films in general, as even with Herculean suspension of disbelief, the film barely rises above the level of disappointing.The plot is simple (as in 'simpleton'), the script exceeds the acting in terms of amateurish mediocrity, the atmosphere is cartoonish, and the effects are on a par with something out of high school extracurricular drama classes. I didn't check this production's budget, but 'shoestring' comes to mind. I've given this 2 stars instead of 1, because it's not unimaginable that some people could derive pleasure from the occasional fright that announces itself several minutes in advance. Other than that, I'd call this a complete waste of time.

So I watched this film with my boyfriend who didn't particularly like the trailer and started laughing about scripting and acting about two minutes in. I, at this point, still quite enjoyed the film and even though the characters were...shallow, to put it nicely, I was looking forward to the scary parts and ignored the not so good script.But it kind of kept getting worse and worse.1. the sub-plot of the couple arguing was plain annoying and painful to watch - since both of them acted extremely bad and the whole storyline was plain stupid.2. why on EARTH did they drive through the whole town even though they already HAD the stupid Ouija Bord they had to burn? WHY? just because they wanted then possibility to show how someones head got cut off? ( a scene I quite enjoyed because the guy who died was the second worst actor)3. If you insist on making a flashback that lasts longer than some seconds, if you insist to really show the "plot twist" and not just hint to it, why, oh god why, would you hire the single worst actress in the world to do it? i saw Paris Hilton act, i watched tommy wiseau and "ben and Arthur" and NEVER HAVE I EVER seen anything close to this atrociously bad performance. Up to that point I would have given the film 5 stars, it was kind of creepy and I was able to ignore the acting, but ....4. you could guess the major plot twist about 10 minutes into the filmBut honestly, I could ignore all of this, all of this, but that flashback seemed to be a comedy. Like, someone making a shitty telenovela and not having the money to hire monkeys.So, I decided to give "the Ouija experiment" one star because if you watch it as a trash film you are bound to enjoy it.

I watched this movie with no expectation of a good time. Like most people who might read this, I am a huge horror fan and viewed this as a knock off in a genre of found video that has been far overdone already. And it was one with a new cast and low budget. In fact, I only gave it a try because it was a weeknight and I expected to fall asleep and Netflix had 4 out of 5 stars on it. It was surprisingly good. Though the acting and pot left a bit to be desired at times, this was genuinely a movie that outdid its predecessors. The film actually shows you what you should be afraid of rather than just have the camera shake a lot so you see nothing but dark when you are supposed to be scared. And it was well done so it actually worked - a pleasant surprise. I will say the plot was amazingly predictable, but then again, aren't they all. (Still waiting for a new move in the genre.) Overall, it was well worth the time and was not a gore fest. All of it was watchable - even with dinner.

For starters I liked this storyline better than Ouija which actually made it to theaters I assume because of having a bigger budget. The main problem with the film like most low budget horror films was the cast. Some major over-acting going on here but that aside it actually had its' scary moments and I even screamed twice. I am a horror movie fanatic and supernatural films don't usually get me but some genuine good scares happened if you ask me.This is definitely one of those films that craved a bigger budget for a better cast and better filming but I still firmly say they worked with what they had cause it was pretty decent, much better than I expected and I liked the twist they threw in at the end. All and all fairly impressive. The potential of this film was not lost on me.
