A Disappointing Continuation
BeSummers
Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.
KnotStronger
This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.

Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.

I make my own beer. So, a documentary about beer making and breweries is the sort of thing I should love. However, "The Magic of Heineken" is hard to love. While the film has some interesting information (such as the huge number of breweries around the world owned by this mega- company), mostly it looks like a film made specifically for a stockholder's meeting--one that says 'rah, rah, rah...look at how great we are' instead of actually saying anything. It also is chock full of super-creepy stop-motion stuff that talks of the company's past but is of limited interest to anyone outside of Heineken. So, if you are wanting information and a film that will excite you about beer, keep looking. This one is much drier than Heineken's beers and not particularly worth seeing for the average viewer--even if they happen to be a beer lover.
